The community provides multiple gaming servers and not just NS. Fortunately for all of us, the NS department is one of the busiest servers of all. Our server is 24/7, meaning that it won’t vanish like a rabbit in the hat. We offer a friendly community with an active forum site. The cool fact about our NS server is that unlike most public servers you usually find, ours provide real-time tactics and attack plans while you experience your usual heart-pounding action. We also discuss ways to fight the opposing team both in-game AND in the forums.
Speaking of the forums, why not sign up in it and join our conversations and discussions.
Best part? Tactical Gamer is NOT a clan; multi-level players are welcomed. In our community, you are never looked down upon if you’re an inexperienced player. We welcome anyone who has a passion to play NS tactically and team-based.

Exactly. We have players there that drop skulks left and right, commanders that work miracles when God won't save the game, field commanders that give you that critical insight you missed as commander, select Vets who pop in regularly, and then we've had players asking which upgrade makes them move faster. All that matters is that you're prepared to communicate with your team while you play, sharing information about the field and coordinating attacks as a group, instead of just rambo-ing your way into certain and pointless death. Despite the fast paced games, if you're new and you stick around a bit, we'll show you the ropes (of NS, and of teamwork if you're not used to it). It's just like this thread says... TacticalGamer.com is where teamwork thrives (and not just for NS, but nevermind that for now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> ).
We've had some server issues in the recent past, but we've had several nights recently with a full server and great server performance (not to mention the stellar games), so all that's left now is the trash talk and the smackdown. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I'm glad to see more people taking an interest. It's so damn frustrating playing on random public servers with... random public players. If you're looking for a step up, now you know where to look.

For anyone interested in facts, please allow me to correct crack. We do not charge money to play a free game. crack just told you it was a good server, and I'm here to tell you it still is, and why $10 has nothing to do with this thread. <b>If you're <u>NOT</u> looking for ANYTHING better when it comes to online gaming, just stop reading right now.</b>
From the Tactical Gamer FAQ:
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Tactical Gamer is a group of mature online gamers built around a community model. We provide the services that the community desires and we host the games that the community has interest in. In return, the community is supported by different classes of membership fees.
Our motto is "Play the game the way it was meant to be played". Let?s take the popular Counter-Strike game as an example. This game is setup with a list of objectives for an attacking team and a defending team. On an average public server everyone is only thinking for themselves and doing whatever they want, often being rude, immature and vulgar to each other. On a Tactical Gamer server all members are required to be mature and respectful to each other as well as follow the rules for the game. In the case of Counter-Strike, this means each team must follow the objectives and actually work as a military style team. Players who cannot control themselves emotionally or refuse to work in a team will be removed from the community.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
To extend the motto to Natural Selection, it's not complicated. It's really, really simple. Communicate with your team. Do whatever the commander tells you to do, even if you suggest alternatives while you go to your waypoint. Coordinate alien attacks. Share information about the game. ALWAYS WORK AS A TEAM. ALWAYS. If you consistently fail to do just that, you won't play on our servers. If you consisently DO work as a team, you'll find it suddenly difficult to enjoy playing anywhere else. ReadyRoom.org didn't announce Cpl. Davis' Tactical Gamer "Server of the Week" with the highest ratings possible in Gameplay, Player Atmosphere, and Admins for nothing. And our Natural Selection server certainly isn't the first Tactical Gamer game server to earn public praise.
Tactical Gamer is nothing more than a network of gaming servers, with a strong community built around those servers. We host game servers for all sorts of games, not just Natural Selection. We have BF1942, Counter-Strike, Natural Selection, Ghost Recon, Savage, and Operation Flash Point, just to name a few. And if you want to rent your own server, TG can help you there, too. We have forums where we discuss all of these games, as well as off-the-wall topics just for fun, and serious ones as well, pertaining to the events of the day. We share thoughts, ideas, files (grin), arguments, strategies, tactics, rumors, tips and all sorts of other stuff.
And nothing I've just described costs you anything. Not a dime. (well ok, you got me. the rental servers aren't free <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> )
For those of us who find Tactical Gamer to be exactly what we're looking for in an online gaming environment, there is an OPTION to purchase a membership for as little as $8.95/month (come on. you spent that much on Two Towers.... FIVE TIMES! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ). For the cost of this membership, you get several benefits that public visitors to our forums and servers do not enjoy.
Again, from Tactical Gamer FAQ:
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->There are a limited number of free services at Tactical Gamer. We provide public/free servers so people can get exposure to who we are, how we play, and get to know some of the community.
Paid members receive access to the private servers as well as numerous membership resources. These private servers have more player "slots" available and have priority over the bandwidth. Premium memberships offer web space, e-mail accounts and private downloads as well as other perks.
Many people pay some amount of money already for these services elsewhere. We allow them to consolidate that and provide all of the services they need into a single membership.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
One example of a premium benefit specific to our Natural Selection members is our Natural Selection House League, a small, friendly tournament that we started to test our teamwork abilities, skills, and strategies amongst ourselves.
That sums it up. It doesn't go into all the details but, ya know what, we have an entire website and forums if you want all the details. Tactical Gamer isn't for everyone. WE DON'T WANT EVERYONE. It's for mature gamers who are prepared to play the game it was meant to be played. We have several beloved regulars who don't pay a dime. They just play on our servers when they can (for example, our NS server doesn't light up until the evenings), and they know they don't get to play if the servers are full of members. But they keep coming back when they can because they know it's one of the best communities they've found for online gaming.
The point is, you don't have to pay anything to play on our public servers. You only pay, like so many internet services, if you appreciate what you've been given and want to enjoy more access (and maybe cancel that FilePlanetShackWorldWhatever account) while supporting the guys that have given you servers you enjoy playing your games on. And one account gets you access to all of our servers, so no hunting for a new server when tomorrow's favorite game comes out. If the players want it, the players get it.
Anyway, back to Natural Selection. Jane hit the nail on the head.
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I give this server my seal of approval. Nice job. It's a good atmosphere, the people are nice, and they listened to their comm pretty well (gasp I know, it shocking). <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If what crack said hits home with you, you're not who we're looking for (and I'm shocked you got this far in the post <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ). And if you've already got a beloved favorite server for your favorite game, no one is trying to pull you from it. But if what I've just said hits home with you, and you, as Cpl. Davis put it, "want a cool server to call your home," you <b>are</b> who we're looking for. See you on the server. Chances are you'll see people you already know.

Server Operators and/or Fans may still *advertise* their servers in the appropriate places, however stick to the FACTS and keep opinions out of it.

Basically, TG is all about playing the game the way it was meant to be played. We are less concerned with your current skill level than we are with your willingness to participate with teamwork.
That said, player who DON'T use teamwork will get kicked. Otherwise, we happily welcome all gamers who play in a mature manner.
And this is important, as we are starting to phase into a FF-ON server. Right now, we have it on Thursday nights only, but it will likely expand to other nights as the players adjust to it.
So, if you are a team player who takes the game seriously, I recommend you stop by the server sometime (maybe for some Friendly Fire action on Thursday night). We look forward to seeing you there.

From tonight, Thursdays are Friendly Fire night at TacticalGamer.com!
Don't worry there are plenty of admins who will kick deliberate TKs, and plenty of nice people who will forgive accidental ones.
i've been in the community for about 7 months now and i still love it as if i just joined. the fact that the community gave me a place where tactical gaming was the number one thing. resulting that i simply can't just leave it. it became the place i visit often and have fun with my online friends there. in fact, some of my online friends in TG are trusted far more than most of my other friends that i see face to face and everyday. <i>talk about brotherhood</i> <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Crack just needs to lay off the crack and use his allowence for somethin other than that crap.. but never mind tring to change the mind of a mindless moron...
We welcome any and all NS players with open arms as long as you are ready to play as a team... We have specific rules and like any server we expect for them to be followed.
Wyzcrack's post pretty much said what I would have so if you want to know what I think re-read his post.
Some might still be skeptical that this server is really as good as it sounds. Take it from my perspective. Certain events occured that lured me away from TG (personal), but I couldn't stay away. I, too, am a serious gamer, and this is the greatest tactical server around. Plus, if you play any other games that are on the TG list, there is usually always someone to play with you (Ghost Recon has a GIGANTIC TG presence).
So if you're seriously thinking about trying it out, don't sweat it. No one will object to you being on the server, no matter how inexperienced. Just keep the cursing down, the teamwork up, and welcome to Tactical Gamer.
TacticalGamer is how I imagine clan games must feel... except without requiring all the players to have godlike aim and insane skulking abilities. The troops may not be perfect, but the thought behind them... I wouldn't give that up for all the aiming in the world.
