ok when one of the teams wins in ns, the screen goes back to the team select area, and then all of a suddne freezes. I cant do anything anymore it just sits there, i have to actually end the steam process in xp, in order to do anything. and im new to ns so if this is normal just smack me around a few times and call me suzie...

Umm, are you sure it isn't just a map change? Everything does freeze for a while when this happens, and depending on the server and your system, it could take a while...

if it is its spending way too much time changing map, upto like 5-7 minutes

Another thing that you should is to read the sticky called Tech Support FAQ and do what has been written in there...

Open your console. You will probably find you have been disconnected, tryping retry will reconnect you to the server
