************************* In my opinion from the screens, the levels look very spacious but without the NS detail of the original or 2.0 maps. But in a good way. Reminds a lot of Marathon and Bob's chasing the Phfor and other aliens around shooting at them but getting beaten back by the shear number of them. Now where's the terminal that gets me the hell out of this level.....

OMG OMG OMG OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111fivemillion........ I hate to admit this but from watching those screen shots i was more than ready to begin my wet dreams..... I love the teamwork and strategy of ns but many a time i have thought. "you know what would be cool phil." and replied to myself "No phil what would be cool." and yet again in a strange womens voice replied "If ns had more of a death matchy twist to it." and i would get kudos from all corners of my brain and go into strange fits of drooling. And I think NS is plenty fun with a small number of players(3v3+) as long as you're playing on a server where you know the players, and you can get them to agree not to rush to Onoses. Smaller games are more personal. On the other end of things, I think a more standard-sized Combat game would be plenty fun too. I don't know why some people are treating NS:C as something that just gives NS some more small-game compatibility... <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> I'll compile some stuff to answer that one.
From Snozzle: "im agreeing with all the vets / mods / pt's in this case - NS:C will not and IMO can not replace classic ns. I dont know if this info has been released or not, but ns:c + ns:classic are being "infused" together, meaning one round you could be playing classic, the next combat depending on how many people are in the server. Sure ns:c is fun, but i could play ns classic much more than i could ever play ns:Combat "
From the changelog: "mapcycle.txt now specifies number of players for each map type, so servers automatically switch between Combat and NS (14 max for Combat, 12 player min for NS)." Some details: mapcycle.txt contains a list of all the maps you want to cycle (standard, same as before) + an integer range, indicating how many players can play combat or NS-classic. Any maps in the cycle that are out of the player ranges get skipped. The default cycle file that comes with NS will have co_* maps for 0-14 players, and classic maps for 12-99 players. You can disable either normal or combat modes just by changing the player limits for those maps (or removing them from the list).
On the other note: 3v3 games get old real fast. Sure, they're fun every once in a while, but so are the custom maps. It's really really hard to fill a server from 0->12 or even 6->12 players. I basically takes a big group of clanmates/friends all joining at once to start it up. NS:C fixes that.
