The community has spoken
As Director of UGL's NS League I have received a lot of positive input on the possibility of developing 3 divisions in our League

Invite: The veterans get placed here

Main: The average run of the mill clans get placed here

Open: The beginners get placed here

We'd need a minimum of 50 teams but we sincerely feel the NS COmmunity can support this. Please visit our forums, register, and vote in the poll in the UGL Natural Selection Forums.

Wouldn't it be nice to play a team of equal ability??? The Ultimate Gamers League promotes parity.

I wish we could get this number of people playing NS. I think the problem is that not a lot of people know about NS. Once steam supports it, I would bet to see a number of new clans join up ns within that month probably.

But I wouldn't bet on seeing 50 clans actively competing till then, there are only 28 active teams competing this week in CAL. We are almost there but not for a while.

You might be able to get away with 2 divisions. 3 is far too much.

Unfortunately, 2.0 was hoped to do the same thing, and it has only gone downhill. 2.0 was gonna be the rebirth of the clan scene. "All the new clans will come out". Technically, they did, but they were basically 1.0x clans renamed with added members. I don't see steam as a savior for NS now.

Steam isn't the savior of NS, but ideas such as this are the savior to the clan scene in NS. I know it's been supremely frustrating to only play vet/top level clans in UGL thus far, especially since we're a new clan. We had no plans to return to the league next season, but if this comes through, we'll give it a try.

I agree with Frikk though, I don't think we need a new clans division. Having a vet division with clans like TMM, Exigent, dn, pandas, SC4N, etc, and then another with the rest of us would suffice until we got the clan scene rolling. I think with the training things pandas have been holding, you'll see more clans form in the near future.

Ya the two divisions is a good idea. It definately sucks when you have a match that last a few min cause the other clan just wipes the floor with you because they've been playin a lot longer. Its definatley more fun when there are other clan is at about the same skill level.

Er...good luck finding that many clans =o.

I'll see if GoM is interested.
