Urgent Noob Needs Help

Hello, for some reason i cannot play NS. I downloaded the 2.0 installer and it wont install its install path is like C:/DocumentsandSettings/Myname/FAIL......... and then if i set it to the half life main folder, it wont install. I hit the ok and then nothing happens. I installed it into my desktop and cut and pasted it into my half life folder but there is no way for me to play it... Another question is is it STEAM compatible.     I have 4 hints for you:

    1: Try the tech support forum. What you're looking for is probably already there.
    2: Provide some specifications about your PC, such as operating system, processor, RAM size & type, etc.
    3: NS is Steam compatable*. One of the NS staff (I belive it was Flayra) made a 114MB NS <u>Steam</u> installer. Check the steam thread in the tech support forum.
    4: Make sure you have downloaded the Steam program. If you haven't, visit www.steampowered.com for the download. BE CAREFUL: the <b>full</b> download is over 700 MB and will tie up your internet for hours, even with broadband.

    *NS wil be availabe on Steam only in a few weeks, if not sooner.
