I don't get it--what's it supposed to be?
My predictions are: CS CZ will be no more or no less than CS. It will be a big hit for a week, until everyone figures out that it's nothing new.
Are they using the hl engine?
Hmm....good point.
When has valve ever been on time with one of their games? I'm reading a PC Gamer from like 3+ years ago and they have TFC2 on there, saying how it will be out soon. Laff... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
The old pc gamers ruled...they were more than like 50 pages.... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
<3!
Those victory conditions seem weird. Is it going to be like Tony Hawk Pro Sniper or something? Huh?

SinglePlayer CS, with some new stuff. Like the terrorists have LAW launchers or whatever...
PWN!!!!!!
YAY!!!!!!!!
<span style='font-size:7.1pt;line-height:100%'>And so on and so forth</span>
But that's not what people are buying it for really. People are buying it for the multiplayer. And from screenshots it looks nothing more than a slightly updated Half-Life engine with slightly higher-poly models. The maps and textures appear just the same as before and the arsenal isn't vastly changed at all (Except there is now a welder / cutting tool).
PC Zone ended in saying that the single player isn't worth the money and the multiplayer is just CS repackaged with shiney new graphics. And to be honest, you're probably better off just playing CS with high-poly models. At least that way you're £30 better off.
I am still looking forward to this though as I know Ritual are amazing level designers. Plus I want a watered down Rainbow Six. Rainbow Six is fun but sometimes you just want to run in and shoot a lot of stuff.
-EDIT- I don't think I've ever heard of Rainbox Six. I blame the keyboard -EDIT-
Yes. And I don't want it to go gold because I'm too attached to the idea that CZ is just a big smokescreen for a top-secret CS2. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
edit, after reading the article:
wth? I thought CZ was supposed to be an actual genuine single-player game. One with a script and a plot and other important features to make it worth playing. Not just CS with bots. Hmm, no - I'm not interested in the game at all now.
Well it was it seems....
CS2 is coming on the Half-Life 2 engine.
Uh.
Bots use AI.
The monsters in HL use AI too.
See the connection? The AI might be different, but it's likely to be as good as the HL monsters AI, or better.
That's not what I have a problem with - I was just led to believe that the game would be story-driven, not some kind of botmatch.
Unless of course there's a story-driven thing in there too, and the bots are for a different game mode kind of thing.
Anyway... CS:CZ Uses the HL1 engine and its going to suck <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> There is only 1 cool thing about it..I hear that if you complete something you get a special model/skin to play online and everyone else can see it but cant use it till they have completed that mission.
In other news: cz has been leaked

Thats the only neat thing in cz...unless you want to 'pwn a noob'
and my preorder should have before i heard of ns (1.04)
Well it runs on the Half-Life engine (Kinda, its a heavilly modded one)
It may look shoddy in places but man those character models and weapons look good....
I mean look at the SAS member.
<img src='http://www.ritualistic.com/screens/cz/renders/chars.sas.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
I mean thats the Half-Life engine!
But then again Ritual are gods when it somes to Level design and Art.
1. the game is done - coding and testing wise - now it only needs packing and shipping
2. the game has been sold a specific amount of times, this can happen before it's release - thanks to preorderings
The way I understand it, all of Ritual's work on CS will go straight to the <a href='http://www.ritualistic.com//forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=142325&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1' target='_blank'>trashbin</a>. Valve decided to rush out a hastily compiled botmatch instead.
I wonder whats going on....
