<div class="IPBDescription">No idea what to call your map? CLICKEH!</div> I'm looking at a lot of unoriginal names recently, so I've decided to try and compile a big list of famous names and such that people can use, to give some variety to the endless stream of co_ maps.

    usually what I do is watch a tv programme, see the nearest material, scientific element or compound near to me. Examples below, including how I got the name for my own map

    I see a bed, wood,
    I see a pepsi can made from aluminium, element Al
    I watch TV, some nice looking girl from Buffy named Glory

    Latin is also a good source, find something interesting or descriptive and look up if it has a latin root. Often you can get some good names out of it.

    smoke something? we have really weird people around...
    best time for ideas of any kind is when I wake up in the morning. the first 5 minutes of the new day are exelent minutes of great ideas. btw: who needs this much names? to find a name for a map should not as important than creating a cool map. or am I wrong?

    IMO, the map name plays a large part in setting up the atmosphere of the map.

    Well, actually... Widow is near complete. I just haven't showed any of it off, really. Unless if you visit the IRC chan... then a few people have tasted it quite a few times.

    For my map, I just mapped away for a bit, then I looked at it and thought "what is the exact opposite of my map" so i came up with "butterfly" and that in french is "papillon". <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
