Any non-Yanks like them?
Rugby with padding, rounders with helmets, netball with blokes, and wrestling on ice!

I have heard this all before but I enjoy Yank games, I find them more fun to watch then (association) football, only slightly but still more.

With all this recent talk on the forums about baseball I was wondering if there was anyone else, from outside of North America who follows such games, which teams they support and why.

I personally support the Boston teams because that is where my father was born, so I inherit the "greats" that are the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and the Bruins.

A few people at my school support American football teams, the Dolphins, the Packers, and the Raiders.

The Dolphins supporter supports them because "Miami sounds cool"

The Raiders supporter supports them because of "their cool logo!"

The Packers supporter has no idea why he supports the Packers.

Which I find typical of most UK American Football boards I find.

So is there anyone else out there who supports an "uncool" team?

I prefer a game of rounders to baseball. I haven't tried rugby with all the padding though. I suppose it would be better because you don't get injured so easily.

EDIT: Oops. Didn't answer the question. I'd probably go with the Dolphins.

    I don't even like the sports we have, nevermind the american ones ^^;

As for teams, I usually just pretend to like the one with the coolest animals... dolphins gets my vote too

I watched the Superbowl finals in the spring. Couldn't believe how a game with only one hour of actual playtime could take four hours to broadcast. Was quite fun to see people get mauled though. Especially since it started at midnight for us, and we were holed up in a TV-room with enough chips, beer and soda to last normal people a week. We were outta chips after two and a half hours.

    lolfighter for Comm!!

thats one reason why american football is so widely broadcast, and therefore watched here in the states.
Lots of play stoppages mean lots of commercials mean mega advertising dollars.

As for baseball, my god, golf is more exciting
talk about a game lasting 4 hours plus

I really like to watch European soccer leagues. Especially now that the English are getting more American keepers.

I like watching rugby sometimes because its like a puzzle, trying to figure out the rules. (absolutely bass ackwards if you ask me) I would like to go to a game with someone who knows what's going on.

oh, and i like it when they say "scrum"
    its a funny word...hehe

    thats a sports rant from a yank's perspective...peace out
