We shall crush the blue heathens
Red Sox just beat the A's in a 3-2 series. The game ended 4-3, bases loaded. Now, we face our greatest nemesis.

Thee art a true heathen, for thine favored baseball team be the Red Sox. Mine Yankee's shall slay them with the vengeance of thine Lord.

DEATH TO THE RED SOX! LONG LIVE THE YANKEE'S!

Though I'm a die-hard Cardinals fan, I'm rooting for the Red Sox this year since my team collapsed utterly down the stretch. They deserve another shot at the World Series since Bucky Dent screwed them over last ALCS they were in.

Regardless, this series should be a hell of a lot of fun. The cities don't like each other. The teams don't like each other. This is one of the most storied rivalries in baseball. This is gonna be war. Can't wait to watch

I came out of a Sox-Buccanneers game recently at Fenway, and they were selling t-shirts with "Dig up Bambino and drill him in the ****!"

This shirt I will wear when we face the Yankees.

    The Yankees will go down!

I've said it before. I would rather see the cubs achieve a centennial losing streak than them winning.

I'm more than willing to let the Red Sox have that honor. They're more likely to do so, what with facing off against a Yankees club that has pounded them all year. Not that I'm a Yankees fan, mind you.

Cubs in... 6. Maybe 5. Only five hours to go, I'm climbing the walls here at work.

Next to the Cubs winning, the thing I want most is to see the Yankess lose. Go BoSox!

I still have to prepare my BoSox shrine and make offerings of Sam Adams and Cigars to my Yaz rookie card. In my family, baseball is a religion and thou shalt put no other teams before the Boston Red Sox.

Wtih the point spread, betting on the Yankees 100% of the time will net you money less than 50% of the time. That is what the point spread is designed to do. If you can find illegal bets amongst your friends without any kind of spread, God bless you for taking advantage of them

I'm here at University of Illinois. The Cubs fans here are going absolutely insane. There was a near riot when they won the divisional series. I can't imagine what will happen if they actually manage to win the World Series. We might be having some major damage to campus here by the huge riots and parties that will occur. Looks like its time for me to buy a gun

Ahhh, but the Yanks lost in 2001 and 2002, and with arguably better Yankee teams (certainly better pitchers, which is what really matters) than they are fielding now. They have not won a World Series in 3 years; here's to hoping their era has ended for another 20 years, like last time...

Go Sox. Go Cubs. Go anyone except Yankees (except Cards - you can all die)!

BLASHPHEMER!!! The Cardinals >> the Cubs. We just let you have this year since we felt so bad for you guys and your 95 year ineptitude streak. We only dropped that pivotal series to you for that reason alone. • ArcadiusArcadius Join Date: 2003-04-14 Member: 15491Members
No thanks Monse. Albert Pujols is the best thing to happen to the Cardinals in a few decades if you ask me. He might just be the next Stan "the Man" Musial. He's our precioussssssss......... Now, if you'd like to give us Kerry Wood. Well, I'm sure we can work that out.

LOL - I always new Cards' fans were bottom dwelling trolls...

I think Pujols is going to make Stan Musial look like the bad news bears when all is said and done. He's just so incredibly talented, it's irritating. He's got Ted Williams traits, and we all know how that panned out numbers-wise. Now if you would just get some real pitching you might actually be a threat in the Central...

Sadly, this is true. Walt Jocketty (Cards GM) should get fired for the abyssmal pitching staffs he's assembled the past few years. Dave Duncan (Cards pitching coach) as well as Tony La Russa should be gone for their horrible mishandling of little we've had. Unfortunately, La Russa and Jocketty are so obsessed with offense they've completely neglected the pitching staff.

Oh, and what's wrong with being a "bottom dwelling troll"? Its actually a lot more fun than you'd think

If you want to see what the Cards strategy gets you, just look at the Braves. in 10 years that will be you. Pitching is what matters, any team can win on a few runs if their pitching is rocking. What are your prospects looking like in the Card's farm system?
