<div class="IPBDescription">IO error on install of NS 2.0</div> Hello ns team, hope you can help

I have HL version 1.1.1.0 and downloaded NS 2.0 from blueyonder, upon installation i get this error.

<img src='http://www.smdblink.plus.com/prob.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

This problem has occurred before with other HL related exe files. The 1.1.1.0 patch for instance did this but worked second time. I have tried a second dload from another location but no joy, i also tried installing in safe mode as well.

Wonder if you could shed some light? i think it is a problem my end but wondered if it had been reported before.

Thanks for your time <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I had that exact same problem while ago.

    And it was caused because of my memory. I had changed from 256SDRam to 512ddr, but that new memory didn't work perfectly with my motherboard. And everytime, when I tryed to download any big files from internet, I got that same error message.

    After I changed back to 256SDRam, then it did work.

    So have you changed your memory lately?

    In regards to the memory issue: take your computer to a software-guru place and have them check the compatability of your motherboard. Very outdated motherboards can only handle very specific kinds of memory. (and in very limited quantities)

    I bought another 512ddr memory stick long time ago (it's from other maker) and it works well.
