1. Do we still need to name locations?
2. How do you place armories? i just downloaded the new fgd and i can't find anything having to do with armories in the entities list. I checked the mapping guidlines and couldn't find anything about placing armories. I also searched for it in the forums. Nothin.

Any help is appreciated.

    Flayra *hided* it directly in the Mapping Guidelines that you should have read before making a co_map anyway <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    also they changed the guidelines regarding co_ maps. Now i have to do the changes, compile again and
    bother Flayra one more time <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    umm.. about naming locations?

    I think you can still use locations, since guidelines says it's regural map excluding this and that etc.

    Ok, here is a direct quote from the mapping guidlines about the info_location entity.
    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Uses X and Y bounds instead of brush shape to determine boundaries. Z information is disregarded<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    This can be found <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/Mapping_Guidelines.html#info_location' target='_blank'>here</a>

    In other words I doubt it will work with level over level design. Try it if you want, but I think flayra will have to come up with another solution to the location problem if they're going to be in NS:C

    Nope, locations aren't needed. Feel free to include them if they work well in your map (ie, not too much Z overlap), but they aren't totally necessary.

    I noticed this new fgd contains the means to place any structure, weapon or item into a map. Will this work for both ns_ and co_ maps? Having a single HMG behind a weldable compartment or similar in a regular map would make for some interesting gameplay.

    lol, then we'll get to see if HMG <i>ammo</i> coming from the armory/comm drops is tied to the upgrade as well.

    If location names actually do show up in combat maps....

    Even if you have alot of z axis change it might be nice to include a compass style naming convention.
    IE. North, South, North West, Origin, etc, so that players still have some sort of reference as to where other player are in the map?
    Good idea, no?

    "Man, I need help over here, I'm getting pwned by this damn lerk!"

    "Where are you"

    "I'm at... um... damn! They didn't func_location the co_ maps! I'm going to func_slap Flayra for that!!11"

    err... due to fact co maps are small, fast and furious, you don't have time to write anything and you'll
    be dead anyways before someone comes. So locations doesn't mean that much <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
