Graphical Errors?

<div class="IPBDescription">Wavy / Wobbly Textures</div> After switching from a 128mb Geforce 4, Ti4200 to a 128mb Radeon 9800, I noticed a HORRIBLE graphics-loss in NS. The textures of buildings and weapons are "Wavy", they are not straight lines when they used to be. All of the textures are "Smudged" and blurry. It is quite odd considering the noticable upgrade within Graphics cards.

Anybody know whats the matter?
Thanks for your time,
-Sid

Edit: And yes, I have tried reinstalling. I have the latest drivers and DirectX 9.

You might have one of the advanced filtering options on (available in hugher cards) that try to make graphics smoother when they really arent, and it just isnt really workign with NS. If you have the latest NVIDIA driver, you should be able to turn it off from your taskbar, but since you have Radeon... I dunno.

What is this thing called that makes the textures blurry and wavey again? Isn't there a name for it - 'cause if there was, I could easily shut it off.

Is it Antistropic Filttering or something?

    I think I got half!

Ther eis a thing that basicaly 'smooths' out all models
gl_smoothmodels, try setting it to 0

[edit] err, that command dosn't seem to exist in NS (despite it being a HL comm) oh well, sry[/edit]

Look in your display properties and go to advanced and then to the OpenGL tab

    Make sure SMOOTHVISION is DISABLED

I have a raedon 9000 with the 3.7 cat drivers and smoothvision is really bad and makes eveything blurry

Smoothvision? Nope, I don't see it under my Radeon Tab-thinger.

    Cout it be "Tru Form"?
    And it's under "Application preferance"

I think I fixed it. Although the textures aren't as crisp as they used to be...
