I don't think there is such a thing available. ( Gmax is hardly my specialist subject however, so I could well be wrong. )

Dunno, what formats can Gmax export in ?

(maybe via a plugin ? as I said, I'm not really familiar with it. )

it can only save as .gmax... there are a few plugin exporters though, i think

Well, your rendering options are going to be determined by the availablility of these plugins, so get plugin hunting I guess. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Nope, it does however export in about a million different file formats.

You can then use something like Cinema4D CE, which is a free version you get from coverdisks on PC mags. ( Yes, I am pimping it again, simply because it rocks. ) For examples of what it is capable of, read some of this..
    <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=19&t=46014&hl=cinema+4d' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...14&hl=cinema+4d</a>

As you mentioned earlier, Blender has a reasonable renderer if you set it up right, although the very limited file format is a pain, OpenFX has rendering, Wings will render ( albeit OpenGL only, but you can get the Yafray plugin which is OK ). POVRay can do excellent stuff, but it's horrible to configure..

I haven't used this, but if it allows import of non native formats, you might consider the learning version of SoftyXSI, renders will be watermarked, but still..

most of my stuff i render using Right-hemisphere(look at my models renders with the black background, thats it). Not as good as Brazil, but its way better than rendering in milkshape. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

What is it you use for your modelling anyway Rabbity?

Can you tell us a bit more about RightHemisphere please?, I've never heard of it.
