Ns And Steam

I have Steam with cs and hl running properly. I always wanted to play ns but never did so i downloaded the installer. I was wondering whether ns runs thru steam or not. Also i was wondering if ns would still work because my cs 1.5 is gone since the steam "cleaned up old files". <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    what you need to do is ignore steam, most servers still use WON. When they finally converst to steam, you need to install NS into the steam/steamapps/<username>/Half-life folder, and it will appear on the My Games list under Third Party Games

    Thnx. I put ns into the correct steam directory but it didnt show up but maybe thats because steam doesnt support it yet. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> Ill just use 1.5 for now.

    IMHO (logicaly) they will shutdown the WON as HL2 comes out to prioritize steam.

    VALVe said that they're shutting down WON once all of the issues are ironed out of Steam.

    then you cant have put it in the correct directory tbh. It should appear under the Third Party Games in the My Games window

    I have it in the hl folder and I see it under third party games. The only problem is when I try to play it I get an error that says "unable to load library from c:\...\hl\ns\cl_dlls\client.dll"

    Yeah I see it on my third party list, but is there a way to show the servers that are running NS under steam?

    i would suggest downloading the steam with out cs 1.6 attached. its much smaller. i have it set up but it still hates all games:)

    I downloaded the steam with cs cuz i play alot of cs. Finally Ive gotten ns to work and it is better than with the won servers except that there are very few servers and the text is messed up. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    i just dont use steam when it comes to NS. i have two installs of HL - one with steam and 1.6, one without steam and NS. I use HLSW to run my Ns games and steam to run my CS games. everything works just fine.
