Not sure if anyone else has posted this, bit i would just like your thoughts on it. espically if some of you have played the game.
This is a quote from a store selling Savage.
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Choose to be a commander, and play an in-depth RTS game, that requires you to research technologies, mine resources, and issue orders to your units. Choose to be a warrior, and play an intense game of first person combat, wielding your weapon of choice to strike down your enemy.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Assuming this game has been in development for a few years they are not really stealing ideas. But i wonder how similar it is. That quote above could very eaisly be about NS.

Seeing as both games have been in development for several years, I dont think any claims of one of them stealing the concept from the other holds any weight.

Its just one of many in the same genre of games.
Not trying to mock anyone here just asking. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I thought Dune was the first RTS ?
No Savage yet <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
You seem to have misunderstood the point of my post. I made a point of saying that I didn’t think savage ripped off NS. I was just wondering what people thought of it.
I think it is a bit cynical to say that all games rip off each other but i suppose it is arguable.
I have no problem with savage been in the same genre as NS i think its a great type of game and there should be more of them out there.
There is one problem i have with savage though:
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->With the creation of a new game play genre, RTSS (Real Time Strategy Shooter), Savage expertly redefines the first-person shooter and real-time strategy genres by combining elements of both into one cohesive experience.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
S2 stating that they have created a new genre when NS has been around for ages seems a bit unfair. Sure NS is a mod and not a released game. But due to the likeness of the gameplay i think it perhaps unfair for them to claim that they are pioneers of RTSS.
There's a thread about it in Off-topic that is probably the best place to talk about the game: <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=10&t=47293&hl=savage' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...47293&hl=savage</a>
I'll check again this weekend. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->

Try Dune 2. Dune was an RPG game by Cryo if I remember correctly.
(And not too hot an RPG, at that.)
NS was a pionere in the world of RTSFPS
like Wolfenstein was for all FPSs
Oh, and seeing that both NS.org and RR.org covered and advertised Savage, I can't really see how the officials are going to be mad at Savages devs for doing a similiar game.
