Tsa - Assault Armor

<div class="IPBDescription">If I had a million res nodes...</div> Since there is no "design your own marine" thread, I'm posting this here.

The assault armor is superior to heavy armor in the fact that it is spore, stomp and devour resistant; The perfect anti-onos armor. Armor points are 450, and cost 50 res to drop. While powerful, it's armor takes damage from bile bomb and double damage from xenocide (just like structures). It's weight restricts the wearer from jumping. Instead it as thrusters built into it's back that allow the user to boost itself short distances.

The MAW-30 is a weapon designed to deliver a powerful blow in a single shot. Getting hit by one of the MAW's rounds is like getting hit point-blank in the face by a shotgun. The rounds are long-ranged and fast, making it hard to dodge at closer ranges. its holds only 8 rounds per clip, but can be reloaded moderately fast.

Fun idea, huh? <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif'><!--endemo-->

    hmmm, looks nice, but when not put side by side with a heavy, its kinda hard to tell the difference.

    maybe make the assualt a little more sleek and agile?

    But then that would take away the idea that this is heavy and cumbersome. If i make it look agile, then it woulddn't look like it's an armor superior to the Heavy Armor

    Nice illustration, but it is somewhat similar to a regular HA. I also like the idea, but too bad it probably won't happen.

    well, there have to be certain consistencies... other than that, the legs from the knee down are hte only thing that look like a heavie's to me.

    Yeah it needs to be consistant, but IMO, light marines don't really look similar to HAs. So there needs to be something that stands out. Maybe like a completely different looking chest plate or like an arm that is assisted robotically. What I'm getting at is, if you're a skulk and you're just spying around for your team cuz you think the marines are coming to the hive, you can tell if it's LMs or HAs, but not necessarily between HAs and the new assault armor. I'm being picky, tho.

    BTW, how do you color and draw your pics? Do you draw them and scan them or what?

    Yeah, that's scanned.

    Also some one needs to make some HA outta this!

    I agree that it needs to look cumbersome but I think that you should make it more rounded. if it was more rounded it would look like the armor was more high tech.

    Nice concept.

    By the way, car, the idea in not showing a neck is the fact that if you're dealing with slash'n'bite aliens, do you REALLY want a neck exposed? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Well, if they decided to make a provision for the neck in that armor, it still would be under the armor, thus, it isn't exposed.
