<div class="IPBDescription">New and improved lights! :d</div>those bright corners around the lights always disturbed me... I first wanted to make a light out of 5 brushes but I saw another map that had those light style without bright corners... and thought ah <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> hey I just put an additive texture there! <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> I think the other mapper (can't remember the map) did it the same way *edit* uh now I remember it was to famous eclipse! <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> *edit*... btw mapping is going along nicely but I recently got two problems...
1. w_polys in commander mode get far over 900
2. I'm running out of mapping space... those 8192 units are not enough <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

On mine, I found it worked a bit better to apply a slight blur to the glow itself, though it's easily enough removed if anyone hates it. <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

also the lights near the commander room look good too
btw on the bottom right pic, u modified how the lights where placed right?

um no they were placed like that since the room was built, tnx for the feedback btw

I added a blur of it behind the main lights so the corners are lit a bit...

I haven´t seen many topics about optimizing maps, but it´s an important part of the work to take care of.
