I played 12 games today and we (the aliens only won 2 times!!!! The rines r simply overpowered just like the aliens were in 2.0. In their zeal, the NS crew created a unbalance instead of a balance, just for the other team. I swear, we had 3 oni and 1 ha with a shotgun maxed out all upgrades took all of us down plus 2 skulks.

Who agrees with me or is it just a case of newbydom

    They arent overpowered, its just that in this new version the aliens need teamwork. Unlike the previous version where every alien did their own thing.

    Well as long as Aliens can cap res off the bat, I think things will be all right.

    I'm an Aliens fan, I just hope that by "balancing" things, they haven't returned the clan matches to complete marine domiance.

    I think that it is is very balanced. The games I have played have been won by which ever team worked together. Controling res comes in a close 2nd.

    OH COME ON! Quit complaining.

    We were all complaining about aliens overpowered which was a fact

    Now Its balanced and now we are complaining because marines are UNbalanced which is a lie.

    Errrr, teamwork is always necassary. Aliens had too much of an advantage in 2.0, so they were nurfed alot. To me it seems balanced now.

    Yea, people will always find a way where it is unfair to another team for doing a certain thing. The only way to make these posts end if they have a marine vs marine or alie vs alien scenario. Which i dont want to happen.

    Serously. Marines are adjusting. People are finally understanding how to play. They just had one thing your team did not. Team work.

    Aliens....they're just more likely to not work together, now that the new patch forces the aliens to do so.

    IMO 2.01RC2 is the best NS ive seen yet. Ever. I just got back from playing some of the best games on veil I have ever played. Did I also mention that marines won 2 games aliens won 2 games while I was there? GG.

    if you are losing an THREE onos to 1 HA, I can understand why you are losing.

    I agree 100%...

    a gorge cant just wall up anymore without support from a lerk or a couple skulks... which IMO is the way it should be; unlike previously when a gorge could get away with blocking off major passageway bye themselves without support.

    I think the number of players per team is the biggest factor when it comes to balancing. I play on a 24 person server usually and the matches seem evenly balanced with 2.01d. Aliens lose advantages while marines gain them as more players are factored in. For this reason alone I doubt that true balance(or anything close) will ever be achieved. Though it looks like the devs are seeking to balance the game for the 6v6 clan scene which leaves larger scaled games in a state of imbalance.

    *Aliens spread their resources out between more players and also spend more total res on upgrades (Fades/Onos appear later in the game)
    *Marine upgrades become vastly more effecient due to affecting the whole team while costing the same
    *Alien spawn rate at one hive still an issue at times of heavy action(A well timed distress beacon can win the game when you're talking 8+ people respawned, allowing a marine team to go immediately back to full strength while only 5-6 out of 12 alien players are active)
    *Onos become less effective due to blocking
    *Marine commander's lack of participation in fighting becomes less of a factor

    Some say marines are over-powered and others say aliens are still too strong.
    I think they are both true.

    In my opinion: 3Hive alien?†Full upgrade marine>2Hive alien.

    If aliens can not take 3rd Hive before marines get full upgrades, aliens will face stalemates where they feel marines are over-powered.

    This is why relocation to Hive brings never ending game.

    Well this sounds good to me, I actually am forced to wisen up as an Alien, and when I choose marine, I can be confident that my team stands a fighting chance.
