Try Remeron
<div class="IPBDescription">If you have insomnia</div> I know many of you out there on the ns forums have some type of insomnia and so do I. If your the type that can't fall asleep or have trouble staying asleep, I think there is a medicine out there that might help.
Insomnia is caused by many things like depression, anxiety, and whatnot. For me I have a lot of anxiety, which is probably the main benefactor of my insomnia. I have been taking other types of medicine like L-tryptophan, prozac, but these have all had no effect or very little effect on me. You could say that I am a resistant guy.
Anyways, I went to the doctor and told him my problems and asked that he give me the strongest stuff he had. He prescribed me with Remeron, which is quite expensive, 60 pills for around 200+dollars american. He gave me a sample packet for 10 days and told me to come back afterwards. He also said that the sideeffects were very effective during the first week. The sideffects include drowsiness, sleepiness, weightgain, and whatnot. I have read threads on the internet of people sleeping for 4 days, people gaining 10 pounds, people becoming really drowsy the next day, people being shocked when something of little irratance happens. I thought that this wouldn't happen to me, but I was so wrong. I can hardly stay awake after 30 minutes of taking this drug nor get up in the morning. During the whole day you feel so drowsy and sometimes when you get up from your chair you hallucinate and your arms feel like bricks and whatnot.
Moral: this drug works so ask your doctor about it if you haven't tried it.

In studies, the use of Remeron, compared with tricyclic antidepressants, also resulted in fewer anticholinergic symptoms (blurred vision, dry mouth, indigestion, and constipation), cardiovascular symptoms, and cognitive disturbances. Additionally, Remeron has a relatively high safety margin in case of overdose and a low tendency to cause seizures. It causes no significant changes in vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, or body temperature) or ECG.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

This drug has those side effects for some and not for others. For me, I have drowsiness like I described above, which is suppose to go away after my body gets use to it.
If I had a choice between a good sleep and this drug, I would choose the drug.
It isn't addictive, it suppose to work long term and after a few months or so your suppose to get off of it. As far as my doctor says, this drug is suppose to balance your serotonin levels and thus it should stay that way, but personally I think its bs.
So don't think of this drug as cocaine or something, it has its sideeffects here and there, but the point is that it works and if you really have insomnia as bad as I did then you would try it.
EDIT: BTW, I take 30 mg each day before sleep, so far I have been on it for 6 days.
EDIT:

But you have to understand, insomnia is caused by the very things that anti-depressants are suppose to help.
It all depends on your serotonin levels and Remeron is suppose to specifcally block 2 serotonin receptors that inhibit the effects of insomnia, depression, anxiety, and whatnot.

?nbsp; Mirtazapine is in a class of drugs called antidepressants. Mirtazapine affects chemicals in your brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression.
?nbsp; Mirtazapine is used to relieve symptoms of depression such as feelings of sadness, worthlessness, or guilt; loss of interest in daily activities; changes in appetite; tiredness; sleeping too much; insomnia; and thoughts of death or suicide. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
EDIT: If you have insomnia, then what do you think causes it?
I was in your same situation, I wasn't really depressed or really anxious. Although I did get some anxiety attacks, in the form of your adrenaline pumping, your heat beat rising, and your body heating up like its about to explode with sweat, a while back in the hay day.
Thinking too much is also a big problem.
(pot is not a drug, its an lifestyle)
I don't have insomnia or anything, so I don't need any medication (duh). <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I think i apply for most of those <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Meh, better than back aches. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
This isn't an insomnia cure, it's an antidepressent. There's a difference.
