it starts out with lots of players--
but when some1 decides that there is a hint chance of losing-- they all leave.

Very true during the TOO long ending where marines lose and just have heaps of turrets.

They have mods that change the join aliens and join marines into joinrandoms. However, there's the small issue of being on the same team 5 times in a row without being able to change the teams.

For most people it's just a matter of wanting to play with their friends rather than against them. I think that's pretty reasonable. If you don't like it find a different server or if you own the server then you certainly have the power to make them split up. Of course you may find you have less players then.
And the feeling you get when you beat a stacked team with a bunch of random pubbies is wonderful.

When this happens on my server it's time for some frantic amx_execclient before autoconcede kicks in. This is after asking people to even the teams of course.

Make it so the game switches you between marines and aliens in each game. They have a system like this in Thievery, where players can only go Thief once and the next game they have to play the opposing team. You could have an IP check on this so players wouldn't reconnect and get round the system.

Good idea....perhaps a server side option?

Anyway,im seeing this a lot....its less on american servers though, partly due to joinrandom only, but on singapore servers.....um......

Lets just say there is a very,VERY,high possibility of losing 2-3 maps in a row to SKULK RUSHES.

Im not exaggerating here.Played 3 straight maps of skulk rushes.

The most ironic thing was,the people on the ALIENS were complaining about how it was no fun because the marines couldnt aim, they were n00bs,etc,etc.

Go figure.

Oh btw i will go get photoshop soon....then you will see how bad team-stacking can get on my local servers.

Last night I played on a server and every time I checked the teams the marines would have 12 players while there were only 9 aliens, this happened in almost every match there until I started going nuts... by then we ended up with 8 marines and 10 aliens so I switched to marines when nobody would budge.
Course then a guy with a welder wouldn't fix me when I had 0 armour and... um... anyways ^^;

yeah, normally I don't see overstacking like that but my first time bumping into it proved how frustrating it can be
Isn't there some sort of 'balance teams' option for servers?

Is there a similar plugin function for meta/adminmod?

My Solution...

This is the ready room.

/---------------------------------------------------------------------\
| /-----------------------\ |
| | | |
| | Random Team | |
| | | |
| \-----------------------/ |
\----------------------------------------------------------------------/

Looky Looky. Only 1 way in.

I tend to pay on large servers 10v10 games and usually they start out rather evenly but as soon as there one teams shows any advantage at least 2 people quit, then new people join and jump in the portal with the team with more players so we get 12v8 games people start whining about teams. Also as soon as a change teams to the smaller one somebody quickly switches as well to keep the unbalance.

Unfortunately fixing this is a much bigger problem as it is the nature of noobs to do this.
The best idea I have is after 1 minute of the match make all the portals random. That way people would not be stuck on one team but it would mean new people could only replace the cowards who run form any challenge.

Theres this server-side thing that switches the portals at random.

Even if you use "jointeam#" your still not sure where you will land.

I played on a server lastnight (didn't grab its long name) and the teams were 12 v 13, 12 v 12 and 13 v 13 all night.
It was 2.01e and I have never seen such a balanced game.
Even when there were so many ppl the teams never got 1 sided.
Also we learned that teamwork does work!
We smoked the marines the first time and them the next time we were OWNED by the marine, and I mean from the very start!

If you don't like team stacking play some 2.01e it balances out the stacking due to no real side has the advantage due to player numbers even.

Would YOU want to play on the same team as most of these people if they are THAT bad?

Just came from a game where the marines were whooping and cheering over voice comms in the ready room after they won.
How did they win? Did they use an excellent strategy taking out all the hives and aliens? No...
Did they even take out all the hives? No...
The teams hit 8 v 4 and the game ended because of the team imbalance.

Why do people think they're good when it just merely illustrates that the game had to be stopped because their selfish disregard to the gamestate (ie: none of the jerks would change teams to even the numbers)? -.-

Not that I really want to refer to the game of heathens but CS had a good team balance system in it that I found helpful; if one team gained more players than the other it basically shoved the highest scoring member of the overstacked team to the smaller one until the numbers were even ^^
