Retail Counter Strike

Hey, I never bought Half Life, I instead bought retail Counter Strike. I've tried to install NS but I can't get it to work. My friend says you can't install NS on retail Counter Strike, is this true? If not, is there any special steps to set it up??????

    yes you can install ANY mod on CSr

    Set install path to C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike or wherever it is installed if you do want to install NS

    You will run into problems running The All-Seeing Eye. I will help in those and perhaps this even should be webbed. ASE is the best game browser for all multiplayer internet games but it just thinks that "NS" is a half-life mod and requires HALF-LIFE. These instructions go for using ASE on top of the other games from the series as well.

    1. Fake that you have "Half-Life" executable. Copy the cstrike.exe to hl.exe in the same directory
    2. Find the Filter/configure games list and click the "Half-Life" to be visible and point the exe to hl.exe, not cstrike.exe
    3. I added there my -32bpp -noipx etc just to be sure
    4. Make a special filter for finding the servers that are just for NS and not for other mods. Select Filter/New and paste

    as the code, name the filter "NS" or something nice. Notice the "NS" on the left side on the screen. Select it and refresh all. Voila.
