Official Release Date?
Is there a set definate release date for NS on Steam yet? Once I get the answer feel free to lock this so that it sinks to the depths of the forums never to be seen of again

I got it so that it shows up in my games menu, but when I use the server menu to join a server (keep in mind that EVERYTHING is downloaded for steam) it says that it is unavailable at the time.
From the NS web page:
If you want to run NS through Steam before it's officially supported, select fmod.dll and the ns folder in your Half-life directory, and copy them to your Steam\SteamApps\\half-life directory. You may see crashes or weird problems with it, but the initial reports are good.
Did you do this first?

I think the VGUI menus would be easy to fix, so hopefully Flayra can put it in 2.1 because WON is supposed to go away very very soon.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Steam doesn't suck. It might just be my imagination, but I think NS looks better in Steam, sans that scaling thing.
Yeah right.
My brother once downloaded steam to play CS and it skrewed up my computer.
Some programs kept crashing all the time and my computer was very slow.
Uninstall fixed the problem.
So **** with steam, I stick on All Seeing Eye.
I tried adding -game ns in the command line of HL, but that didn't seem to work, and the thing says I got a different cl_dll.dll
Then restart Steam.
Hope to see a patch soon

That's exactly what I did and it worked fine. Make sure to bring fmod.dll over from the old Half-LIfe folder otherwise it won't work.
Is that right: you who are able to enjoy it are running 2000/XP?

Yea I did that. This is all and everything I did(and it works great for me). I unstalled the 500k steam that was still updating cs and hl. I then got the 400 mb file from fileplanet with the hl and cs already updated. It never asked me to do the conversions of my other mods so I just copied the ns folder and the fmod.dll and put them under my Half Life folder in steam. Then I restarted steam and when I go to Games I see natural selection listed at the bottom under "Third Party Games". I right click on it there and launch it and it takes me to what looks like a plain half life launch screen. But if you go to Options it will show you all the ns config settings. So I search for servers and use no filters and all the games that show are ns. I just double click one and join. No problems. I will even go so far to say I have come around to like steam, I think it will be cool. Cause while I was playing I had a friend add me to his friend list, while playing and I could talk to him while evoling and never leave the game, never lose sound and could still see what was going on in game. If he had installed ns in his steam folder yet, I am sure he could of just joined it right from the friends screen.
Hope to see a patch soon

In your autoexec.cfg add
'alias ex_maxerrordistance'.
Does anyone know when NS for Steam is OFFICIALLY being released? This isnt a support thread. >_<
The screw-up being that it uninstalled Half-Life, but didn't reinstall it under Steam. What do I mean? I ran a search for hl.exe and only one thing came up: the hl.exe in the Backup directory of Half-Life, which was probably from the last time I upgraded regular Half-Life.
What does this mean? I can't play Half-Life. I don't have a CD here at school (I have my CD-Key stored on my computer though) so I still can't reinstall until I find someone with a CD.
There is no ETA on an "official NS Steam patch." Flayra needs to get the Steam SDK so he can figure out what parts of NS are incompatible (e.g. the RMB menus) and why; then he can get a patch out.
Well duh, I can answer that:
Steam is crap.
