Cut & Glue?

For texturing ease at my spawn
I just have a quick question -- how do I "stick back together" brushes that I have cliped? This would save me tons of time on texturing, as I had to cut some pieces pretty aqward to get them to fit right, but then texturing them is a pain. Can I glue em back together so I can texture them easier?

Thanks for the help, I might get pictures of my marine spawn up by tonight, but not in game shots, I dont know how to compile yet.

I assume you're using VHE. As far as I know there is no way to glue brushes back together once you have clipped them. Your only option is to rebuild the brush.

Emm...well rebuilding the brush wont be hard. I'll just do that.

If texturing's your problem, you could always use "Treat as one" on the texture pallette...

Actually, using clip is the worst idea you can do. Just remake the brush you "clipped" using the vertex manipulation tool. Clipping is bad for r_speeds and can give you unreliable results. Just don't do it =p

    CLIP is our friend!

    Actually, no.
Carve is the worst thing you can do, unless you're willing to manipulate the vertices after you've done it. There's nothing wrong with clipping, in comparision to Vertex Manip. it's 6 and two 3s, and in some cases better (for example creating unusual geometry like infesation).

Clipping is good for some stuff, but if you want total control, use vertex manipulation. Just know it will take a while.

If you used QuArK you wouldn't have any problem now
You could just delete the 'cut' faces from each brush and then move all the remaining faces from one brush into the other! Easy isn't it?
