3ds max importer for ns ?

<div class="IPBDescription">Will there be a ns importer ?</div>Will there ?? or will there not be a NS importer like CS Importer, i wold realy like to se a NS importer for 3ds max. i love playing around with models and y not... i may even open the first NSArt site.

    I'd think it'd be the same thing as whatever importer there is for normal HL.

    Yup. That's it. The same thing for HL.

    ?? i ment... There is a CS importer... its all the CS models and skins in 3ds max files, u will need to du tons of things to import all the models to 3ds max, thas y i wold like to se a NS Importer. If i knew how to convert HL models to 3ds max with bones and all that i wold du that, but i cant.

    Beyond the obvious thought, which would be to simply use the 'CS importer' to import any model for any game (CS models aren't made any differently than any other HL model), I'll say that there won't be any type of model importer made by the NS team.

    now i say it again... the CS Importer is a pack with all the CS models but in 3ds max format. i know it a stupid name so thats y im renaming it to *drum rolls* "The 3ds max cs model pack". so then i wonder... will there be a "The 3ds max NS model pack" ?? =)

    now im going to be sad for a realy long time (or at lest to the realease of NS).

    Well, <a href="http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/" target="_blank">Milkshape 3D</a> has a HL decompiler, and it works for all mods, unless they encode it (like the Opera team did), or if it's a CS model (since they have the left or right thing, MS3D has another compiler just for CS models). So, just decompile them, and export the SMD's to 3DS format.BAM!     [edit] and that's the way Action Art does it. Decompile, animate (get in to position), and export to 3DS.

    Can we use MS3D to get the textures from the NSTR2?

    You can use <a href="http://www.telefragged.com/wally/" target="_blank">Wally</a> to get textures from the NSTR2 however most of these are owned by the NS team. So make sure you ask permission before you use them in a non-NS map and don't expect it to automatically granted.

    I hate Milkshape like so many unmatched socks. I am hanging out for the HL plug-in for GMax. GMax is a cut-down version of 3DSMax, Basically it can do everything 3DSMax can apart from export to avi, bmp and whatnot. The plug-in will enable GMax to export to *.mdl which is what HL uses for all it's mods (To my knowledge).

    Use Milkshape to export to 3ds max wont give u the bones of the model, thats y. and a HL Plugin for 3ds max/GMax ?? i hope it comes out, i realy need it.
