<div class="IPBDescription">its ewwy :)</div> this is my first model and i had just started modelling recently o.O

i had some help from friends for another model but this was my first from scratch and i made it at 1am o.O

when I look at the smoothshading im pretty sure that I can se some inverted faces on the model... set the 3d view to flatshade and use "reverse vertex" on all the black triangles

it looks nice for a first try... when you're done you might also wanna look <a href='http://www.trfmod.com/milkshapetut/' target='_blank'>here</a> for more practice... it's a pretty good modelling in milkshape tutorial.. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

well actually its ment to be a VP-70

update i guess

i fixed the handle added the sights at the front and a non hollow barrell(hint: any ideas how to hollow it out?) and also added a trigger guard but its a bit fugly so i might have to fix that up :\

Looks alot better, you should fix the smoothing groups, give it a little more detail and maybe some more shape on the slide? nice job for a first one in Milkshit 3d though

no need to make the barrel hollow, its a waste of polies imo. Anyway if you want the barrel to be hollow, the slide have to be hollow too :o

btw if you havent done the smoothing groups, pls show your models in flatshaded mode, its better that way. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

overall, the model's been going nice so far so complete it! <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>
(be sure to learn poly by poly modelling too, it helps a lot!)

I think you should make the trigger guard a bit shorter, and fatter. Maybe you should add a hammer, too? And a little detail to the grip. How many polys is it currently?

Good job for your first one.

The reason people dislike hollow barrels is because
a) you never see them
b) it ~doubles the polys

However, you've asked how to do it so I'm going to show you anyway. Even if you don't put it on your model, its still good to know.
