Keeping A Marine Perpetually Stomped

DoppleDopple Join Date: 2002-12-31 Member: 11698Members
<div class="IPBDescription">Or, "How to have more fun as Onos"</div> An interesting thing with Stomp is that after two seconds, the paralysis effect wears off instantly. What this means is that, given the Adrenaline upgrade, Mr. Onos can keep marines stomped virtually forever. This leaves the door open for all sorts of hilarious deaths - heal spray, gas, what have you - since the marine is defenseless. The only way a marine can get out of this is by suiciding. This takes some skill to do, and is extremely risky to do with large groups of marines, since stomp isn't very wide.

How to do it:

Stomp. Count "one one thousand two one thousand STOMP". When you see the white circle ripple off of the marine, count again. Repeat as necessary.

actually I often try to get onos's to work with me (when im gorge). I ask them to stomp and wound the marine, then I take the kill and get the res. It lets me build much much faster which in turn supports the onos since he gets DC's and oc's to run back to (and of course movement)

works best on marines caught far from base, so 'rescue attempts' are less likely/frequent.

also, for best results, chuckle after every time you stomp. taunting over /say may be a little much, use at your discretion <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

To be very evil, stomp them on the IPs and keep them there so the marines telefrag each other over and over again. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Or you could play the game in a less lame way and just kill them/end the game, whichever is availible.

Actually I've once used the marines as a bullet shield.

I ran into a base with 15-19 turrets and ran away at 350 hp. The marines gave chase. I turned around two seconds after starting to run, and stomped them while they were all together. Then I crouched in front of them and was happy to go stomp as much as I wanted while three gorges came out and bile bombed the turrets-using the marines as cover. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo-->

Better yet : heal the onos. It will slowly kill the marines he's busy stomping.

And the sight of 3+ healspray kills is humiliating for the marines.

So gas and healspray are hilarious when they kill? I guess you have alot of fun when playing...

I say gas is one of the most used killer in the game(cause its used so damn much) and Hspray is good, no matter what you say(I have dominated servers with it)

I usually just let my backup kill the marine if I have the spare time, so he can have his fun at onos a little bit sooner, usin it for gettin kills with poo weapons tho (such as parasite) is pretty lame tho <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Um how about stomping 3+ marines, devouring one, and continue stomping them while your digesting? You could eat up the whole group, waste about 10 minutes, and earn yourself some laughs -_-

Won't work. Unfortunately, there's a ridiculous delay on switching weapons (to prevent so-called 'scripting abuse'); by the time you ate the first marine, the other marines would have recovered, giving you 0 time to switch back and keep them stomped.

Anyone tried ambushing HAs with a cloaked onos ? Must be pretty neat as hive defense... unless the comm scans everywhere , that is. But with a good sensory network you are likely to catch HAs before they reach your hive.
Once stunned , it doesn't matter that OCs do "light" damage to them , they will die eventually <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

the map was ns_nothing and the marine team was doing there job keeping a lock down on 6 v 4 res nozzles...

my alien team had about 4 out of 10 kharra that knew what they were doing...when i finally earned my 100 res i went onos and so did another person...we were about to lose our cargo hive due to the fact that they had all level 3 upgrades and a team of sufficiently supplied heavy armors...

so our team of 2 onos, 1 gorge and 1 fade went to their base to try to put a hurt on them....oh gosh, it was a hurt alright. their problem was not having many turrets in their marine spawn (they only had 2 or 3) and me and the other onos took it down quickly...and the commander told the HA's to come back from their trip to Cargo...and here they came, all 6 of them....

laugh @ the stomp, me and the onos were smart in just using stomp on all 6 of the HA's. while us two onos were stomping, the fade would just be tearing them apart...yea the HA's got a few shots in, but not after they were immediately stomped a 1/2 second later....the gorge was there for healing and bile bomb...

that was a great game, luckly the commander didnt build up the spawn so much or it would of been a lot tougher...

times like these where NS shines :O)

yea you need 2 onos at least to keep them stomped like that... one onos sometimes runs out of energy (unless you get adrenaline, but if you do your crazy)

found another great use for this spectacular attack, if u catch a guy near a steep fall, stomp him and then poke him. sumtimes poke has a weird thing where the rine goes flieing, if this happens the rine goes flieing off the cliff to a humiliating death <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> also, i got to a point where i kept the whole rine team of 3 ha shotties (comm apparently gave them out as a desperate manuever cuase they had no ips or resnodes) stomped then the comm apparently came out and tried to rescue the rines frum me but i stomped him 2 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> the game ended when wimpy skulk who never got any kills but died alot came along and got his shot at glory... means he paraed them all to death <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

If the commander was worth his salt he would've relocated to cargo at that point. Any place that's far, far away from two onii is a happy place. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

if oni work in pairs, one stomp one devour/gore then it's lethal

also keeping marines pinned down with stomp while smaller aliens kill them is a very good strat, oni and stomp really perk up with MC and adren

I personally like to devour the last marine and then jump in a trigger kill <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
