Father Ted is one of my all time favourite shows.
I have the "best of" DVD;s and Vids. Love it.

For those of you wandering what -]sonic[- last pic is all about here's
a brief transcript: It's from the episode titled "Cigarrettes. alcohol + Rollerblading".

    (Father Jack is pictured)

Father Jack: "Hey, hey hey you there!"
    Father Ted: "Yes Father?"
Father Jack: "What the feck is this!?" *he waves the spoon around*

    Ahh good times.

    What channel is that on? ( it's probably not in the US though <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> )

It WAS on Channel 4 in the UK but tragically Dermot Morgan (who
played Father Ted Crilly) died a few days after filming the final episode
    in season 3. He's sorely missed <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

it is really british comedy, prob not a thing Americans would understand.

I mean when my Americans relatives stayed over and watched Only Fools and Horses, they were like....uhh ok

Yet the Americans seem to love The Brittas Empire and Keeping Up Appearances apparently, hmmm

its so weird how the bloke who plays Father Jack is a real posh bloke in real life. Whenever they interview him, hes like "well yes, tally ho pip pip" and all that <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

It was comically titled "Speed 3".

Dougal: "Ted! You forgot your brick!"

    *falls on the floor laughing*

DOUGAL: I saw it on the news. Honestly. I.. oh.. wait, now. Eh, actually now it was a dream now that you say it, yes.

Ted sighs. He lifts up a diagram. It has a drawing of the outline of a head. The space around the head is filled with the single word- "reality". Inside the head is the word- "dreams".

TED: Dougal, have you been studying the diagram like I told you?

    Classic.

British humor is odd at times (to me). But I enjoy it. Monty Python, for example. Extremely wierd, but so funny.

    Oh dear god NOOOOOOO!!!!

every single US attempt to do a british sitcom has failed miserably

    some examples:

    One foot in the grave:
UK -> grumpiest old fart on the planet annoys everyone around him
    becomes
US -> Bill Cosby occasionally gets a bit cross

    Men behaving badly:
UK -> two 20/30 something blokes sharing a flat and behaving badly/stupidly
    becomes
US -> two 20 somethings sharing a flat and dont act very badly at all

    Red Dwarf:
Uk -> a slob, and anal retentive hologram, a disfunctional robot and a sex starved evolved cat, all trapped in a big, empty spacxeship, in the wierdest bits of the universe...
    becomes
US -> Lister is clean shaven, and not a slob. Rimmer is just slightly annoying, the cat is FEMALE??? (one of the points of the early series was theres no women around..)

Dear god, when will american netwprks realise the only people who do british humour right, are the british... if it aint broke, don't try to fix it...
