So Who's To Blame?

One thing that irritates me a bit, is that when ever the marine team loses the comm gets the blame for it. Even if no one followed his orders. I never play as a comm myself but neither do I blame the comm for our losses (unless he does something retarted like builds 5 commcenters). But comms are quilty of this too. They go like "Oh my team is full of n00bs and they don't do as I say" Even if this was the truth, I have a lot more respect for the comms who take responsibility and admit that they made a few mistakes. Last night for example was a the perfect example of what I mean:
I was playing as a rine and our comm was good. I started trusting him more and more as the game went on. He made good judgements and kept everyone informed of what he was doing. The only problem I had with him was that it took me a while to understand him. He had a strong British accent and that gave me some trouble.(I am from Finland) But as the game went on, I started understanding him better. Anyhow, we had 3 restowers and and things couldn't have looked better. He then built us 5 heavyarmours and nadelaunchers and a few shotguns. We all gathered together and started our assault. We were practically on a verge of the final victory when we ran out of ammo. I had earlier made up my mind, that I wasn't gonna ask for ammo untill I absolutely needed it. As I said earlier I trusted the comm and had no reason to doubt that after he sent us on a rampage he wouldn't provide us with ammo when we needed it. Well as it turned out he complitely neglected our pleas for ammo and there we were: Too far from our base to get back to and none of us had ammo at all. Then one skulk comes along and slaughtered us all. (Can you believe it?) 5 ha guys with nades and shoguns all sitting ducks for this skulk that got us by surprise. Well the comm went silent for a sec and then said "Omg my team is full off ****** n00bs". None of us said nothing. Except that he didn't provide us with ammo.

The point that I am trying to make is this; Respect your teammates and respect your comm. If you made mistakes then either be quiet or admit it. Blaming your team will only make things harder in the next round.

P.S. For those of you who wonder, Yes I tried to kill the skulk with my knife but he got me non the less. (He obviously was lucky but ondoubtedly had skill too, unlike me)

    anyway if u get a bad command kick him and see how many others will want to go commander , give comms a break sometimes.

    Comm = Dinner

    For future reference, 5 HA welding each other are invincible versus a single skulk.

    Before you say anything, please try and comm.

    I've commed many times, and its really nerve racking. You have a hive locked down that an onos is taking care of while your marines are trying to take a res node without success because its hoplessly oc'd up. That onos is going to take more than level 1 weapons to kill so you're always worried about upgrades and such. Marines screaming for ammo and meds. And all of this is happening at the same time as gorges bildbomb and oc your electrified res nodes.

    comms have it really hard. Give them some slack.

    If your comm is good. Give him your complete and undivided trust. Good comms will never do anything to ruin the game.

    Its the same when you are a lone gorge.
    Some times your team is all greedy and they don't want to put up hives, chambers, RTs or OCs.
    They go Onos asap and forget about the rest of the team.
    Being a "Smart Gorge" I enjoy doing it, what I don't enjoy is being yelled to get things done when I am the only one whos not getting RFK income, meaning it takes a VERY long time to put up anything.

    You know...When I gorge (almost every game I start in) I tend to be greedy...but it's a greedy 1.0x gorge. Cap as many res towers as I can, get both the other hives up. They're MINE! ALL MINE! Last rush in on the marine base, destroy the res tower and cap it...why? CUZ IT"S MINE! Ok I'm good now. Really. /me drops res tower <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> What? I saw a node...had the res to cap it...it'll pay for itself in a couple minutes.

    One thing a good comm need is to listen to marines, taking part in the battle. Keeping your marines fully healed with medpacks and replying to your marines creates trust. Generally I agree with you, but the comm bears alot of responsibility as well, if you are the comm who doesnt do the above the marine will lose faith..

    No, the commander is more like a dessert... or a TootsiePop. You have to break through the hard outer shell to get to the soft chewy center.

    Who else got to the line "I started trusting him more and more as the game went on" and thought you were in for a sordidly luSUYFl tale of a commander sexually abusing his soldiers
