Can't Strafe And Move

I'm using a new system which I purchased for NS2. And I can't seem to strafe and move at the same time. It only does one or the other. On my old system with 1.04 I could strafe and move fwd/back at the same time.

Has any1 else had this problem.

I'm using a new MS keyboard with the drivers installed and it's not wireless.

Any one know what this could be?

    Hey I got this same exact problem and it should be addressed, and I can confirm the problem is only with Natural Selection. In anmy other half-life mod my keyboard works perfectly, but I can not move forward and to the left/right to the extent that I should be able to. What happens is that I move to the left or right MUCH slower then I should be able to when holding forward.

    I also bought a new computer, Hewlett Packard, really kickass comp >:D And this keyboard is also HP, not Microsoft. And like he and I said, we can't move n strafe :O

    It causes more problems then you would think, you just can't kill efficiently.

    (I'm posting this both in bugs and tech support)

    ok, some actual sys specs would be apreciated

    also include what keys you use for movement

    and if you wana try some quick tests try some diff key asignments

    especialy ussing command keys (ctrl, alt, shift)

    Open console and type, cl_sidespeed 1000

    It is currently set at 400 and in 1.0x it was 1000, now you should be able to strafe easily.

    try using a default config and not messing with cl movement values. I read somewhere that walking in ns is messed up if you have certain values changed.

    Skulkhaugen, Ibelieve that the devs ment to tweak it so that you could not go full speed diaganoly

    now, MegaMaid, do you meen that you can NOT move diag or that you can only do so at a redouced rate?

    Thansal, dont spread the retarded notion that strafing was purposely hindered by the devs, it was an oversight and is easily fixable. Nor are the commands serverside. The server only regulates your maximum speed.

    RAPTOR, the reverse is actually true. By leaving the cl_xxxspeeds at their default 2.0 values, walking/strafing is messed up.

    be nice, I never saw that thread (I got tired of the nerf xxx threads in general) and I am unfamilar with those cvars (I assumed that they were actualy changing speeds, wich are of course locked. Not simply changing a ratio)

    If you have PC-Speaker in your comp does it beeps while you try it? Bcause certain key combinations "overloads" the keyboard (its different on every keyboard). For instance i was playing some stupid little freeware game with my friend, its controlled if i remember RDFG for player one and arrows for the second, it cannot be redefined. On his computer we were blocking each others movement to left but on my computer it was ok. But my keyboard gets locked by other combinations.
