What race and what other abilities makes pheromones a "elite" killer combo?

    There is no elite combo, that makes pheremones a fantastic upgrade. The only thing it is good for, is seeing where the marines *have been*, which is quite unuseful compared to knowing where they *are* with Scent of Fear. Also the pheremone trail will sometimes obscure your vision, so that you can't even see the marine if he is standing right in front of you...

    LOL! Pacman is a sweet game. To tell you the truth, I have never used pheremones yet (I don't really plan on it either).

    I used them once, it was good being able to follow the marine in a dark passagem otherwise hard to tell where he was, but when i finally got him the greenish thing wouldn't allow me to see him well hehe. I prefer SoF also.

    Personally i think pheremones would have been better if they had been more like a blood trail, leaving glowing green splats on the ground to follow. the cloud just obscures the combat as it seems to be given off at waist hight.

    I used pheromones on a server tonight, and i must say that this abillity is rather retarded imo

    While i was following a rine, i had to focus so mutch on that dumb (smoke?) trail, that i got nailed from behind by his m8.

    SUMMARY:

    SoF -> eeeexellent

    ph -> DOH!!

    All respect to the dev team, but this abillity needs some seroius improvement.

    Yeah, all I use is Scent of Fear. It's like being a big bully and picking on the weak.

    i would use phero if when you did eat a rine it acted like a uber power pellet and you became invincible!!!!! for like 30 seconds though

    Does SoF still require the marines to be hurt in 2.01d?
    Even if it does not, it still beats Pheramones IMHO.

    Scent of fear has not required the marine to be hurt since 1.04.

    The only use i can imagine for pheremones is for tracking an annoying Jetpacker around a hive room

    Woho. In that case, why are sooooo many marines hurt?

    FALL DAMAGE IS AN ISSUE PEOPLE!

    If they fall, I bite. I'm not complaining.

    I believe you misinterpreted my statement.

    Let me reword...

    Scent of fear detects all marines, and has done so since 2.0.
