<div class="IPBDescription">nobody can connect</div> Ok,

Nobody can connect to a server with mp_consistency 1. (Somebody suggested this would stop the lamers from playing on servers with 1.04 files.. and it does.) PTs who have 2.0 final also can't connect to a 2.0 server with mp_consistency enabled.

alien_myhive.wav
agibs.mdl

perhaps more??

Anyhow, this'll be a big problem for leagues. Hopefully this can be fixed in the first server patch 2.01.

P.S. 2.0 in 11 hours!!!!

Yes - this was posted on readyroom.org at release time. It is because some art assets were removed from the server in order to make it less useful as a client. The workaround is to unzip your server into a directory that has a full client install loaded - that will sync everything up and get around the issue, as you will have the missing files then.

The 2.01 server patch will also include the missing assets.

I will repost this in the server forums as well, but let people know.

Nitro: Since the server itself has these files, that means all the clients would have to have it too. Or maybe I can kill those files off the server and they won't be checked for. Who knows, Ill hack it someway or other.

    Hey all,
I realised that there still wasn't a proper release of the dedicated server that works with mp_consistency and needed it running for the upcoming GameArena NS ladder servers. So I threw together a quick patch that will copy over any missing client files to the server, allowing mp_consistency to work.

    A copy of the patch is avaliable here: <a href='http://ganwn.ausgamers.com/grug/NSPatch.exe' target='_blank'>mp_consistency patch</a> (23MB)

Its been tested on a few server installs with several clients and appears to do the job.

install on the client or server?

Oops, looks like I didn't give enough details. The link I posted to the patch above is intended to be installed into an existing NS 2.0 dedicated server (win32) install. Once installed on the dedicated server and mp_consistency is set to '1', then clients should be able to connect to it with model consistency enforced.
Clients don't need any changes made to be able to connect (unless of course they are using custom models and need to revert to defaults of course <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)

This patch should be redundant whenever NS 2.1 is released, but for now should save a fair bit of time and effort

hey your patch dont include a agibs.mdl and i cant join the server
my clanmate can join and he doesnt have a agibs.mdl

for all who have the same problem: open your pak0.pak in the valve directory an copy the agibs.mdl from the pak into your ns models folder
