    classic

you could easily get around that, but most armory humpers wouldn't be able to figure it out <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I am SO triing that out.I normally just recycle the armory.

You can stand on top of the armory, and the armory has a pretty far range so u dont HAVE to stand on the IPs. Awsome idea i gotta try it sometime <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

That should be made All in one, <i>Marine Outpost</i> 4 IP's and Armoury Cost: 65 Res

Build your armoury the other side of a PG.

This has only failed with one person who went through the PG and was attacked but started humping the armoury anyway. Thank god I had admin on that server, amx_ban anyone?

I dont build an armory until mid game. And when I do i stuff it in a corner so only one or two people can use it at a time.

if you could electrify armories to zap humpers...
  • MajinMajin Join Date: 2003-05-29 Member: 16829Members, Constellation
    thats clever!

Now place it in a corner so only 2 people can get at it, suround it by IPs and you got the instant quick ammo armory!

Good idea with the IP's, it could work.

I wonder how big a difference it would make if the LMG just started with full ammo...

But then... that might just be like getting dogs neutered... they just keep on doing it anyway. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

See this design stops armory humpers because they'd spawn, see the armory, and begin getting ammo.

    Then it's russian Roulette time!

I play with a British guy that threatens to recycle the armory if the marines hump it or don't perform. It's a riot to hear him on voicechat, and a bit sad that this usually gets results from him.

You should be able to create pits...( imagines an armory in a middle of a giant pit, with a rickety bridge that will only hod for 5 seconds..)

    Clever idea though.

Do I sense just a wee bit of enmity for the armory humpers in that build setup? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

I wish there was a way to enforce "smart" humping without penalizing every player out there... I guess the only real "best" way would be to hope that players would listen to their Comm. Like that's ever going to happen. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

But I do see the merit in this build setup! Smart players would be able to get ammo as uasual while marines abnormally attracted to their local armory would get juiced, and thus force them to learn.

But wouldn't this just eventually create "Smart Humpers?"
    I guess Darwinism at it's best. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

You could make the Armory give out a full 50 clip instead of a half clip. Would save up on time and could work for the shotgun. (I wish for the GL)

Or..place mines around the Armory, if the marines die by a skulk hitting it. Their fault..not yours. If they are going to kick you..then build a bunch of random crap and change teams or something. LoL <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo-->

The only problem with that setup is one skulk could own everyone coming out of the ips with ease.

Yeah and if you did it every game they'd probablly get so used to not humping, that you wouldn't have to drop mines there.... (yay for Pavlov's dogs however you spell that)

sometimes nothing . . . . but most of the time, you probably aren't going to use it all. . . . so it wastes time that you could be following orders or killing stuff in general

On the average pub, 9/10 players will die b4 using more than 150/20 ammo.

Also, it is mostly, when people hump it, and a location is under attack, would you ever sit at base getting ammo when one of your res towers, or vital locations is under attack?

If it is in a fairly quiet time, fair enough, but in a heated situation when you NEED marines deployed, it is frustrating to see people just getting ammo as you tell them to go somewhere in urgency.
  • UKchaosUKchaos Join Date: 2002-08-10 Member: 1132Members
Just tell the humpers that extra ammo slows you running speed down, so many players dont know this.

people actually stay at the armory to get ammo when theres something urgent that needs to be done?

why cant you just ban the people that do this? it hardly seems worth the effort of babying them with ips all around

that's hardly reason to ban someone. its just a game. you're gonna ban everyone who decides not to play the way you want to?
