<div class="IPBDescription">that close...</div> Okay, I just played 3 games and we lost due to idiotic commanding (as almost always with me).

One of them :Okay, on Caged i think, we had upgrades going, 3 rts with farms, and shotguns. One of them was in siege range of Generator. What does the commander do? Nothing. A couple min. later, I stroll into Vent hive, no oc and only 2dc. We had well over 100 res. I said "I'm under vent hive..nothings here...can i get a tf?" I had lmg with 50 rounds. He responds "If i do, they'll know you're coming!" "Not if we turret this place up!" This went on for a good 5 minutes. Then, an onos remepts, sees me, kills me. Needless to say, we lost. I got so p------.

Closing: If you have a chance to do something that'll win the game, DO IT! It might not succed! But, you never know! We would've won very easily...but he has to do nothing and spend money on a new base since ours was recently destroyed by bile-bombing gorges.

    Putting a turret factory under a hive with turrets will result in the turret factory being torn out while the turrets focus on the hive and skulks regenerate their health.

    That has happened to me. I still think it would be better than doing nothing.

    or just buld a PG and take those shottys he was talking about and waste the hive, or build <!--emo&::siege::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/siege.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='siege.gif'><!--endemo--> 2 of them with 4 senterys will kill a hive fast. Also if a skulk(or anyway) attacks the sentery it self(not theTF) it will turn and fire at it. So have the marine jump around in the sentrys the skulk will most likey be biteing none stop and hit one or more of the sentrys and it will kill him.

    you never can turret farm a hive up.
    1 tf in a corner, 3 sentrs in satelite communications hive.
    1 marine vs 3 aliens jumping in. marine dead. 1 alien gorgs and build hive, hive is under attack. first movment cham a waste, aliens jusing the chamber

    many aliens diing, many marines diing and trying to build up sieges and more sentrs, 1 fade after some time,
    hive grown completly and tf got red
    they tried to weld it and tryed to build siege but they loose in cause EVERY alien jumped to sathive

    perhaps marines could have won with pgs but where to take the money *gg

    I see your point on that, except why only 3 turrets? The comm should have at least waited until you could siege.

    U know whats ten times more efficiant than a tf under the hive. A phase gate under the hive with a couple shotties waiting on the other side.

    well...the onos redemed...so...if he were to place the TF in the hive, it would have just been killed anyway...

    vragnor me was alien and we hived after the guy build his 3 sentrs
    there havent been more sentrs cause a comm with min 4rts cant afford turretfarms AND Upgrades at same time to build up

    Despide other aliens think that a tf can kill a hive we overtaked the satelite place and ignored the tf a little bit, believe me the incoming marines done more damage to the hive than the sentrs

    some1 know if the damage was reduced from sentrs to hive like to onos halfed damage ??

    In 2.01d servers, turrets do half damage to onos, and offensive chambers do half damage to HA.

    Tested at some point due to boredom in base 2.0, lvl-0 turrets do 10 damager per hit, sieges 330, I'd say turret's fire 3x faster, so need 11 turrets to match 1 siege, and as most epic turret farms are actually only 15-20 turrets, it's not all that feasable to turret a hive to death, and abit of a waste to put turrets in direct los so they start shooting hives,

    10 damage per shot is the same as a single lmg shot so even making a turret farm to protect marines unloading a quick 50 rounds into the hive would be more effecient

    Actually turreting a hive to death with ha's building them is quite fun when the res is flowing in faster than you can spend it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Any decent commander will build a PG first and NOT uppgrade while he has a window =/...
