Has it come to anyones attention that most models that are celshaded in half-life have VERY LITTLE detail (buzzy-boys, sven-coop, that tfc model etc.) ...I'm thinking that it can be done but the colors would be wierd if u use the original skin? or maybe the polys would be way TOO high? I'm not a moddeler or anything I'm just speculating.

Lookeh.
Therefore, it CAN be done, to varying degrees of effectiveness. or those of you who are no familiar with Sven Co-Op, the cel-shading effect on these models works quite well indeed. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> I <3 that map on Sven Co-Op.
It is the single most amazing map I have EVER played on. It is truely a work of art.
Would <3 true cel shaded models for NS, but somehow I think that it'll look out of place on the maps.

A real cell shaded pack would be great. Someone get working on one.
And yes the cell shaded replacements in Sven were good weren't they? <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

It has nothing to do with code.

there ya go.
Take the whole model, duplecate it, englarge it a tiny bit, reverse all the polygons and give it a black skin.
Only problem is it doubles the polycount. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> BUMP I guess, as this topic is disapearing into the void, but from whats been said this sounds fairly easy (yes, I cannot model, so its probably not as easy as it sounds) and I don't want to come off like a beggar, but if the only problem is a doubled poly count on the default models... well, I for one would love a high poly cel-shaded pack... anyone want to give it a try?
I'm sure this might be able to be done with the use of a metamod plugin, any chance voogru? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> I know you can add a glowing shell to players and, if it looks good enough it looks like its cel shaded, otherwise just see how buzzybots did it, becuase im sure it isn't a model thing.

Buzy Bots
EDIT: I thought Buzzybots had cel-shading?.... I think it involves resizing the mesh.
