amount
Well I only would have wrote this if some turd on a server didnt hijack the comm chair the SECOND I went out to help build and ruin my **** game, damn thats annoying, and whats even more patheticly annoying is people on my own team are always too slow to react or dont care to kick the new "founded" commander whether he comms like crap and looses the game.. grrrrrr so stupid.
Anyways , whats the default setting for commander ejection and kick votes (how many votes it takes and could it be dependent on the amount of players on server? ect), thx.

it's not "eject commander because he's being disruptive" (note the help text uses the word "if"), it's simply.. "eject commander". and that's that.
so.. any reason to kick the comm is good enough (if it's agreed on by enough of those on the server).
remember its just a game its all in good fun and if you dont agree with that you don't have any buisness playing any online games at all. So all I have to say about all you impatient **** out there is GET OVER IT!
You complained in your first post that every time you join a server, see no one in the chair, go comm, and start building things, they eject you. I'm just saying, maybe they ejected you for a reason. Maybe they already had a commander, and he was just walking from one CC to the relocated one. Even if there's no commander, and no plan, you should still ask first before you jump in. If you go "Mind if I comm?" and the team goes "no" "nah" "nope" "go ahead," they're less likely to eject you as soon as you log in. Or if everyone says "okay" except one guy goes "only if you're good," then at least you will know who probably started the vote to eject you. You might even be able to discuss what he thinks makes a "good" commander, so you can see if he's liable to eject you or not. And if somebody goes "no, I wanna comm," you'll know better than to try to get in the CC.
In short, if people are always ejecting you as soon as you try to comm, try asking them if you can comm before you try to do it. That was the point of my post.
PS: Im one of the best commanders out there and have never been ejected before, on the other hand Ive seen plenty of crapy comms never get ejected so maybe thats not something to brag about?

I dont dislike noobs for simply not knowing, its how they learn, if you know close to nothing you shouldnt comm and ruin the game for others, why? because you have other options to learn from. There are aids to help you become a good comm without joining a pub and making marines loose. You can read the manual and message boards over and over which is very usefull if you want to actualy be GOOD. The easiest: you can actualy PAY ATTENTION to every game your in when your not comming and see what structers get build first and where, believe it or not you will get much better at watching a good comm do his thing than you yourself comming without knowing what to build where. You can also download bots so you get a good feel of it or if you have an online buddy ask host a game or host one yourself.
I do have to admit that because you cant start a game without other players is a problem as a new NS player. When I first dl'ed this game and started playing, there where so many bad comms on pubs that I basicly made it my business to be a good comm and help out the cause , and sadly because NS doesnt come with bots I had to download bots and get a good feel of comming, look at the manual several times and message boards, and ONLY go comm when theres 1 other marine on my team as to avoid **** off alot of ppl. I was a noob and thats how I learned to comm, believe it or not I did it WITHOUT ruining other ppls games. With all those options you have at your disposal to become a better comm much quicker than comming yourself without knowing much I would have to disagree with noobs joining online games and comming unless his team agrees first, which isnt too hard is it?, take warps advice and ask if you can comm first.
Just my 2 cents.
// Commander voting
mp_votedowntime 180
mp_votecasttime 2
mp_votepercentneeded .4
mp_minvotesneeded 2
so looks like you need at LEAST two ppl voting, with at least 40 percent wanted the comm off.
so in a 6v6 game, if 3 ppl voted against the comm, he's gone.
I hopped in the CC and recycled around 40 turrets before I was ejected and then banned!
It can be abused, but than can so anything in the game given to the wrong person!
I have experienced that many times too. Usually if one marine stays in the base and the rest of the team goes to wp which I gave to them, I plop few buildings and jump out and help to build them.
And then someone of my team member dies, spawns, screams "where the hell is commander" (even when I have said before that I will jump out to build some stuff and then back in), jumps in, builds TF in the middle of the room and spends rest of the resources on sentrys.
But many times we dont have to start to vote. I usually ask that new commander to log out and about 80% of the cases they actually do that.
If they dont......then its time to vote....
But I still ask "Where's the com?" or "No com?" at least twice before jumping in (because having a CC unoccupied is really Bad News for the team). And always wait a few seconds for the previous com (or someone else) to answer (when he hasn't quited the server).
As many other said before, always ask before jumping in the CC.
As a marine, you can do almost what you want, it's your own personal business -even if it's better for the team if you keep in line and help out everyone else.
As a com, thought, the fun of your teamates will partially (but more importantly) depends on you. Ask them if you can go com, or warn them that you would like to try in order to improve your skills as a newcomer.
I will usually let so-called "n00bs" take my place in the CC if they ask, so that they can have a feel of what comming trully is, after telling my teamates about the future change.
Everybody got to learn before becoming good at what he does, right?
Emagine, you just got your driving licence, you jump in your car, start the engine, and all of a sudden, another fellow car driver stares at you with the glowing eyes of Horror and Despair and screams:
OMG!! N00B!
And then proceed to kick you out of your seat???
Well, he may argue that it was for the good of the other drivers(players) on the road(server), it's still a little bit rude from him, and if you never get a chance to drive somehow, won't you spend the rest of your life as a noob driver/com?
Well if you are always on the eternal pedestrian/marine grunt side, maybe the only thing you want is cross the road in peace/win the game with ease.
But nobody could cross any road safely/win a game easily if we dont allow new drivers/commanders to get some experimentation.
Luckily enough, in NS, you can do a few mistakes before becoming a 4 stars commander
For the rest of you people, never forget the safety belt and dont abuse of those psychedilik drinks, particularly if you're going to drive.
You only live once.
Well, unless you have a licence-to-kill TM, you know a guy named Q, and every women you meet desesperatly tries to finish the night in your bed.
I've only commed about three our four times in the month and a half I've been playing NS, because every time I DO get the oppurtunity to be commander, and I don't build that armory and drop those shotguns in the first 10 seconds I get ejected for not playing right. In my mind, shotguns and HMGs and GLs are meant for specific raids and for people who have earned my trust, etc. But that's a different story. In conclusion, I just hope that the players of NS realize that we need to let "n00b" commanders play some to get good, otherwise the commander pool we have now will run dry, and no one will be commander. And dear god, it is just a G/A/M/E. Thanks.
Death what do you think about my noob reply to golem?.

...but dont watch where the bots put the structures. That is NOT a good way to learn the which structures to build where.
But yes, trial and error is OK, but it will destroy your reputation. Follow someone else's lead.
Maybe there should be a feature whereby the commander has a view of his chosen Sgts? Like a mini-first-person view as a window on his own screen. Bit bandwidth intensive, but one day.
