<div class="IPBDescription">any one know about it?</div> Ok, I am about to move back to college were I will be sharing an apartment with a good friend who is also a Mac user. Obvious problem here is that we will have a cabel modem and I have NO IDEA about Mac networking.

I have my good 'ol LynkSys Route, will I be able to simply connect em? what type of networking do macs use??

HELP ME! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yeah you can just connect the mac to the router and it will work. A router is just a gateway like the one your ISP has. If the mac doesn't work with the router, it won't ever work.

    well, thats what I am gettign at

    do macs use some sorta diff protocol?

    and if so is there a router that can talk to both of em?

    Nope, same protocol.

    As I said, if the mac doesn't work with the router, it's the mac that is screwed and not the router <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
