2.1 Changes Get Rid Of Turret Farms Please?

They said they are going fix long games, but not how. Since the aliens are limited to x amount of turrets in an area should marines too. Turret farms have become a huge problem just prolong games. Any thoughs?

    Onos and Heavy Armor take half damage from turrets/OCs in 2.1. Combine that with umbra, and a couple Onii can take down even the largest of farms.

    Armory grenspam is what's responsible for prolonging many endgames, and I hope it's dealt with in 2.1.

    With out the backing of a turret farm the gl spam is useless for most areas. I have had a team try to gl spam without turrets and I just zenosided into 3 and the onos came in.

    Turret Farms aren't the problem for prolonged games. Most cases, the Grenade Launcher / Armory combo will prolong the game much farther than any turret farm can do.

    I play almost exclusively on pubs, and I've never found turret farms to be a problem on 2.0 except for hives that are extremely difficult for Aliens to take back lategame (lastgame as in 3/3, numerous HAs/GLs/HMGs/SGs) if a marine team reloactes to it (tanith - waste, origin - biodome, lost - equilibrium). Bile bomb is an incredible counter to turret farms, especially given the abundunance of vents in critical areas of the maps (both new and revised). Redemption onos can easily take out 1-3 turrets per attack, movement or no movement.

    Indeed, although it's considered lame by many, one of my highest priorities when I comm is the two-hive lockdown. If I don't do that, I expect to see gorges wrecking all my rts within minutes and any structure close to a vent being ripped to shreds (occasionally tough to find someone on a pub who can actually aim a GL into a vent properly). It also disables stomp, which makes onos far, far easier to kill with shotguns. I actually find bile, not onos, to be my 'worst nightmare' while comming.

    Indeed bile bomb is very useful, if a gorge has 2-3 movement chambers and a few DC's next to him then he can take out a hole turret farm.

    the problem is people don't use teamwork like they used to.. lots of people seem to think they can onos and slaughter the map, or grab a shotty and destroy every alien...

    Turret farms and WoL's are obsolete if you have a team attacking...

    people some times complain how onos die so much. not if you have a lerk or 2 spraying umbra into them. A gorge at the back to heal the lerks + the onos, possibly a fade to pick off marines that come in from a different route etc...

    equally with marines... WoL's are easy to kill if u have teamwork. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
