    Marines do not set off their own tripmines.

    What <i>does</i> set off the tripmines, then? Are they like, special heat signature sensors (since they all have different heat sigs)? Or are they just so high-tech, we don't understand how they work, but it just works that way?

    They are magic tripmines. For the time being at least.

    Whoooaaaa... Hold on everyone.

    The tripmines aren't set off by marines in FF-Off mode. The public mode, rather than tournament.

    Whether they set them off in tournament mode has yet to be determined.

    And -everything- up there ^ is STC.

    Rob came up with a good explaination for tripmines not getting set off, the suit transmits a deactivation code to it.     Well it's from fan fic (rob's story Unknown Enemy, Uncertain Outcome) so it's not totaly integrated complete match to the game. I'll just sum up what Molec said.

    If the server's in casual mode then the mines won't go off.

    Can you place mines on walls for those cursed level1's?  And also this is WAY WAY WAY to late but have the developers considered air mines for level3's and even level1's leaping?

    They're *trip* mines.  They have a trip laser.  They work like the HL tripmines.
