I am posting this to see if anyone else can reproduce this issue.
Since installing NS 2.0 on our computers we find that the server will stop replying after half an hour. The server is running on a Windows 2000 machine and is set to dedicated, having being started from within Half-Life. The only thing that we can tell could be the cause is the auto screen lock, since every time the server has stopped responding the screen lock had kicked in. When the computer is unlocked the server is still there, but it is still not responding. We have to restart the NS2 server to set things back to normal.
We never had this issue with NS1.x and in both cases steam is not installed on the host running the server.
On my computer with steam 2.x installed, running the dedicated server and locking the screen will stop it from responding. Unlocking the screen allows it to respond.
The computer are all running on the same subnet and the computers are all using Active Directory. I hope this is enough info.
