<div class="IPBDescription">Who is it?</div> I'm sorry if this has been brought up before, but I was curious as to who does the voices for the marines and the alien overmind thingy? It's been bugging me for a while, hope someone knows <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

I beleive they hired voice talent for it. Flayra spent so much of his own money. Shouldn't you try to show your support with Constellation? :-P /plug

Also- why do they all have slight southern accents? And why does the commander have the same voice as the marines?
Overall, the voices are great. The taunts don't make sense (My strength says I need an outlet for my agression?) but they're cool. I use voicecomm, but I still use the messages.

the comm probably has the same voice as the marines because the marines are the comm at some time or another.

i wanna know why the marine voices got more insecure and childishin the 2.0 editions, was it to contrast the commander's tone?

Lani has done voices for Diablo 1 & 2, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, etc. which is pretty damn cool if you ask me.

Ya.. voice actors usually have to be able to at least semi-pass as the other gender...
They do voices, all kinds of voices. Doesn't matter what kind, if they can't do a wide varity of voices they aren't cut out for the job.
and I'm pretty sure the hivemind has a bit of computer distortion...

Yes, they use a very expensive sound editor called Sound Forge 6 that let's you process the sound and make you do whatever the hell you want it to sound like...

And I think Lani has a couple of people working for her, or else she would scare the crap out of me.

I think some of the marine voices may have been from Duke Nukem 3D. They are the same wording and sound the same.

No, but there are some servers that have any client who connects download Duke Nukem sounds that the admin can play to all the players.
