<div class="IPBDescription">Building death animations</div> Sure I was screwing around with HLMV and soon I load up the turret model,sure nothing flashy.....maybe until I ran into it's death animations??
Of which I may ask....why weren't they implemented??Was it because the animations were *gasp* incomplete?
BTW,I checked out the chemlab building model and all I saw was a rusty grenade lol

the death animations on buildings however, are taken over by the particle system, and not animated at all...
this is again, to my belif, and i have no tested/used this. maybe somone eith more experiance than me will conferm?

Also I've noticed that some buildings are missing some animations,and only 2 buildings have complete animations,which would be the Hive,which has almost all animations being played,and the Arms Lab which when it dies,doesn't even tip over,just simply explodes into a puff of smoke :\
Maybe that is the reason the death animations weren't played,because they would have to have all buildings animated to actually play them,and of course some coding.
But then again it could be the particle system....but then,o official wording whatsoever :\
I mean...it's space steel, not organic slime like the Alium structures. Space steel won't gurgle, wilt and die - it will dissappear in a puff of smoke. Or would you rather see an armoury clasp it's "chest" and fall to the ground yelling "<i>Stella!</i>"?
Or have I completely misunderstood this post?

to me, it'd be cool if the buildings actually blew up.. a la starcraft. is that too much to ask? ;P
kind of boring having them just... disappear.. in a tiny bit of smoke..
ie:
bilebomb!
*BOOM*
smoke puffs up and turret topples over.
I cant see how this would be difficult to implement
Perhaps harder to implement than we think...
I also think accumulating smoke from damged buildigns would be awesome, although quite taxing on the particle system and would really chug those slower video cards out there...
Or maybe i'm missing something.
