something fun I thought of
So your squad is trying to nail an Onos (does not have redemption, preferably - or has devoured someone in 2.1a), but the Onos is running and getting away! A few more seconds and it will be around the corner and will escape! You have to think fast!

Quick! Build a turret factory (or 2) right in its path! Now the natural instinct of the Onos will be to jump over the turret factory. Guess what? It can't! (I tested this offline) The best it can do is try to squeeze between the TF and the wall by putting its back to the wall and slowly going through. But that's why you place 2 turret factories. So in the end, it is trapped! Then your squad can finish it off.

Sure, this may seem like a dirty strategy to some - but it would be hilarious to see what the Onos player would type.

hey, its certainly cost effective. Heck, after you kill the onos you can build them and then recycle them for pratically no lost res!

Best of all, you no longer even have to build them. Just recycle.

I always liked dropping turrets or other structures on aliens attacking base.

Pin them to the ground, as it were.

marines can jump over tfs so i assume onos can too.

Even if an onos could jump over one that's still slowing him down alot, so if he already has low health you should still be able to take him out. Nice strat.

It sure won't be easy. Comms will have to react fast, but I'm sure with some practice it'll be easy enough to pull off. Hehehe, I've got to try this.

I tested this; if the server has the appropriate mod loaded, here's how an Onos can escape:

    1. Get as close to the TFs as possible
    2. /unstuck

    Zips you right through them...

I had this happen to me once. 10 res turret owns a 100 res Onos :/ I really hope they fix this soon.

From my experiences, the /unstuck command doesn't always work the way you would want it to.
In any case, the whole idea of this strategy is to revolutionize the way buildings are used in NS. I don't think commanders think of these types of strategies often. It would be a lot more exciting if they did. Onos will be much more cautious about messing around with a squad of marines.
