Hold your duck key, and press 1-5. That will create a squad, and will tell the marines on the ground that they are now part of that squad. Squad 5 is best.

is it just me is the way the guy says it what makes squad five the best

because thats what makes it awesome for me

    When I'm the commander, and we're doing something important I always put the troop in squad 5. It not only sounds cool, but makes the marines feel special because somehow squad 5 = the win, and that's just how it is. One and two work well to have groups for capping nodes in the beg., and I'm sure that squads four and three are cool and all, but I've never used them. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> How did squad five get to be so special?

    Squad 1, I'm always in it when the team wins against those (Hella Overpowered) Aliens, w00t SANDROCK! Sandrock's the commander that always puts me in Squad 1.

    squad 1, 2 would be my marine squads, usually of 4 people. If I have a baseguard, he's 3, and obs fill the rest..
    If I ever get a marine from the short yellow dropship, though, I'm thinking of putting him on squad five from now on.

    I almost always find myself in squad 1, and thats usually the primary combat Troops, first to go in, last to come out in body bags. But now I wish I was in the leet Squad 5, Frontiersmen Special Forces.

    I find that my marines are just happy to be squad Five. I dont use squads that much anyway (because it lacks flexibility - Rines respawn, then are sent halfway to the other side of the map because their squad is there, thats no good). I usually just select all in the begining then pop em into squad five. Halfway through the game I do the same thing. Does wonders to boost morale; quite suprising.

    Exactly, so sad but true, something that small really does effect morale! One time I was comming it was so obvious we were going to loose, and I stated the obvious and everyone got really bummed, so I put everyone into squad 5. We then proceeded to siege a hive (to no avail), then another (to less avail <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->), but they still didn't care because periodically I'd put them into squad 5, and they were all giddy as happy as can be. Crazy but true sqiad 5= the ultimate morale booster!
