Hmm, I saw a trailer for it once in theaters, which imo are getting freaking expensive..It looked interesting and ok, but for some reason, probably, becase most horror/thriller films suck these days, I thought, "naa, not good for the money.."

So now I did a search on movies.com to get a clearer picture and the avg reader reviewers gave it a 0.3/5.
I dunno, but I might prefer downloading it instead of cashing out 5 bucks, unless I am in the mood to watch those type of movies with my buds. But you shouldn't trust critics all the time, I liked badboys and a lot of people didn't..

Its gorey... and has a good plot. and is sneaky...and scary. lots of gore though... lots of gore...even i felt a bit quezy...i really liked it though. and i dont like most horror movies like you brought out, they suck. but this one i did like.

The gore was horrendous, it looked real bad. It wasn't scarey at all. And the ending just made my faith in 21st Century Horror Movies run away. I was going to rent a movie with a friend, and he pointed it out. I told him it was bad... but right next to it... "Ghost Rig." I swear to you, it's like the same cover and whatnot. Might be worth the laughs.

That movie was utterly awful. In terms of "teh funney" it rates pretty high though, in other words it actually ended up being hillarious rather than scary unintentionally.

If you thought 13 Ghosts was a craptacular riot of non stop unintentional comedy, this movie is equally as amusing.

Just make sure you see it some way without paying for it, otherwise you'll be down some money better wasted on food.

God you people expect so much from movies.

If you are expecting some wonderful masterpiece of emotive writing, great action, horror enough to make even the most hardened rotten.com veteran vomit and actors who truly, truly make you believe EVERY time you goto watch a movie you aren't going to like another movie in your entire life.

I liked Ghost Ship, no its not the best movie in the world, yes it has bad points but it also has good points. The plot is interesting and reasonably well revealed ***SPOILER IN THE BRACKETS*** (The way they dropped some not so subtle clues with the digital watch and the living captian guy talking to the dead captain guy, although I must admit they did seem to kinda rush it out towards the end of the film in "btw i am a soul collecting demon yo plz2bnot blowing up my ship kthnx") the gore level is right up there with classics such as Bad Taste and it was actually pretty freaky sometimes...that little girl..worried me...but then again many children do.
I also liked The Ring which esuna wrote about somewhere else on the front page, and I've not actually seen the original yet which is annoying me as I want to. But on its own its a good stand alone film, yet most people who reply in these topics are all "what a load of crapola" "don't waste your money" "blahblahblah i post the same damn reply in every movie topic created on these forums because i'm so leet btw LOTR and Matrix roxor your boxors"

[Hypocrisy]
The first lord of the rings movie sucked, big time. If I wanted to watch some dozy looking midget wandering around for 3 hours with an expression of terror on his face I would go and see my little brother at school. The second one i'll give you though. Matrix reloaded also sucked big time, yes Mr's Wachowski you made bullet time cool, no, that does not give you the right to make EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN KICK BULLET TIME what the hell, if they'd made all the figh scenes normal time (not so bloody boring) the film would only have been half an hour long and I could have spent the other 8 and a half hours of my life doing some useful like sorting my nostril hairs into neat lines.
[/Hypocrisy]

So next time you see a movie topic and you feel the urge to reply in it, make sure your reply is going to be more than 5 words, in fact if you can't think of at least 3 lines to write about the movie, and may I point out that I mean 3 lines of coherent and thought out prose, then don't bother replying at all.

Thankyou..thats what i seen in the movie as well.

the way it made you think...and how it didnt just tell you what happened. it played into it. and put things together, and toward the end you where like...o so thats what happened. you couldnt predict the movie. from start to end. but they kinda took to long. like you said at the end it it rushed to much. they could ave just made the movie longer.
i liked the part were they all start seeing things. and when they get on the ship and are looking around, trying to figure out what happened. i kept expecting them to go in that room, and see a bunch of skeletons. thats what i liked about it. that and the points it made out. about greed.

I'm pretty flexible with movies (although I won't go liking some utter trash). I didn't really like or really hate this movie. It was ok but in my opinion, not worth another viewing although I didn't waste time with watching it. But again, this is only my opinion...

The singer at the beginning was hot. The dance scene was quite cool. The song r0x. (Movie's rendition is the best - she lipsynched tho) The retro intro to the movie was interesting.

The entirety of the movie after that sux, I mean, *really* sux. Even with that kind of freaky setting, on an abandoned ghost ship in the dark, I got bored of the movie. They should have been able to really manipulate people's feelings with that setting.

Well your talking to me. im open minded about almost everything. and movies are one of them, there are few movies i dislike.
I like the halloween series even though its like watching the same movie over and over again my favourite movie is The Rock. Which i would claim as one of the best movies there isnt a horror movie that ever really scared me though. anyone have any suggestions? old ones new ones?

I like the Halloween series, even though I've only seen two... it seems like the only original horror movie that hasen't gone bad.

So, I decided to give Ghost Ship a try. I should've known what to expect when I saw the movie poster with the big, silly "SEA EVIL"-text in the bottom part of it, yet little did I know I was about to watch something that sucked, and I don't mean in the regular household vacuum cleaner style, oh no. The suck factor of this dung heap of a movie was something beyond a streetwalker with 20 years of experience in the business.

Yes, it was that bad.

I mean, no problem with the setting. A creepy, slightly flooded, rusty old liner makes a very nice place for a classic haunted house tale. Actually it seemed like the crew of this movie did actually go to a public library and study the "Cookbook for Classic Horror And Suspense Scenes". Unfortunately, they didn't read the book thorough and the director ended up stealing his style from the people who make Limp Bizkit videos. A craptastic movie experience follows.

The beginning was neat, what with the people frantically trying to reattach their legs to their torsos and all that. Rather gory, but sort of an unexpected thing to happen. (On a side note, I want to find and publicly beat the person who decided the font and colour of the opening credits) Unfortunately, it's all downhill from there. What we get is every cliché of the genre executed in a very sloppy manner. For example, the scene where the dance hall is suddenly restored to its former glory promises much but delivers absolutely nothing, and the choice of music for the scene where the mass murder of the passengers is finally explained simply kicks the atmosphere in the nuts and leaves it writhing in agony on the deck. And don't even get me started on the ending. It was funny, but also extremely stupid.

I can see this film was made purely for entertainment and shock value, no real horror involved, but it just doesn't work since I'm neither shocked nor entertained. Just bored and left wondering what incredible feat of bad acting or incompetent directing will scratch pieces away from my sanity next.

As a matter of fact, even The House on the Haunted Hill (the new, awful version) was better, and that's saying something.
