Turrets Don't Get Upgrades?

I noticed today that a turret was doing the exact same damage to my skulk, when it had level 0 weapon upgrade and level 3.weapon upgrade.

I didn't notice anything about that in the changelog so I was wondering if this is a bug or a feature that got left off the list or I skimmed over it?

    i always thought the weapon and armour upgrades applied only to actual marines...

    I thought turrets got weapon upgrades though...I think they did in 1.04 and that is how it should be IMO.

    I'm pretty sure they do, otherwise 'rines are cowerin' behind lvl0 turrets in the endgame, and that be just wrong.

    Yes in 1.04 the turrets did more damage with weapon upgrades.

    In 2.0 they do 10 damage at level 0 and still 10 damage at level 3 weapons.

    This may be a glitch that somehow worked itself in through all the playtesting, or something intentional. I don't know.

    The fact that you can cram thirty turrets in one room powered by one lone factory, they can be electrified for passive defense, and that the Turrets seem almost God-Like with their accuracy doesn't make me feel too sorry for the marines if the turrets don't get upgrades.

    AFAIK, them not being upgraded is on purpose.

    Odd that it wasn't mentioned in the changelog then, it's a pretty big thing.

    most times when i lure in the marine base (cause they relocated the 1 millionst time), i could tell you when they got an upgrade. i cant tell you which one, but they got one-
    you can hear it at the sound when they firing - its much way "harder"

    (those turrets, the last time this happened, shooted the whole time cause my team tryed to kill this farm, which was at least killed by me through xenocide)

    One problem with turrets is the turret farming, aleins can only put 8 O chambers in a small area, but marines can put as many as they can squeeze in and afford, also wellplaced turret farms that can't be bile bombed easily (long hallways no overlook) are devistating on aleins, 20 turrets in one room can easily make even an Onos go running back to mommy, it just deals out too much damage, and skulks basicly get insta gibbed so xeno doesn't work much either.

    You are MISSING THE POINT.


    This is NOT a balance thread. This is simply a QUESTION about a specific thing in game. The MANUAL says Turrets are effected by upgrades and they WERE in 1.04 but obviously not in 2.0. THe QUESTION is whether this is intended or a bug.

    Perhaps turrets should get the upgrades, so you wouldn't need to spam them as much to cover an area?

    Also, turrets will be countered by onos and OC's by HA in 2.01d, so fear no longer about turret farms, they will be next to useless in the late game.

    I think that turrets need upgrades, otherwise people will spam them even more than they do now. But with 2.01d do you think people will not use them because they are useless, or will they spam twice as many turrets? Only testing will tell

    well Nem0 says they dont upgrades, I was kinda suspecting that....
    In 1.x they allways went to differnt sounds at differnt weapons levels. I had noticed they dident do that any more.
    cant say that I mind, allways though that Weapon up grades where an cheap way to upgrade your ENTIRE force.
