Ive had enough of the complaining, people keep coming up with new things saying NS 2.0 is Unbalanced. Do you think if it were unbalanced that they would have released it?!?! Its Perfectly Balanced, ive won many games as marines, all you need is a Good Commander, and TEAMWORK, weve taken out aliens with 3 hives, Redemtion is fine, ive seen MANYOnos(or Oni) get taken out fast, Spores are not a Problem like people complain it is, Lerks are easy to kill. My point is quit complaining and go play some Natural Selection and have some fun! Anyone that says the aliens are weak, or that the game is totally balanced, obviously hasn't done any of the things I mentioned above. Aliens are soundly beating marines in 9 out of 10 competitive games, and this is due to a couple last minute changes we made at the end of our private beta. The game that had finally gotten balanced near the end, was no longer as fun as it should've been, so we took the risk and traded balance for fun. That's what 2.0 is. It's fun, but not balanced yet.

Now, if you were Flayra and you were making changes to the game... What sort of posts would you rather see... "NS IS BALANCED FORGET IT" or "I think the imbalance in clan play stems from blah blah blah." Yes, I understand you might get posts from people ranting on, they annoy me too, but I suppose they are entitled to their opinion if it is within forum rules.
Flayra said in a post something along the lines of, "do not post imbalance issues for 1 to 2 weeks after release." Well, it's 1 to 2 weeks after release, so I can't see a problem with people posting imbalances.

And once was a shotgun rush.. like just drop 8 shottys and an armory at start and rush the hive.
I dont care about Balance problems (if any), I play it and always have a good time!

Aliens on the other hand can zip about the map and lay down a res node each, right off the bat (unless they join after the buzzer). Skulk off to a node, go to gorge, then drop the tower. For the most part, 2.0's suckiness comes from players who use cheese tactics like skulk rushes/turret farms to make the games stupidly short, totally crippled, or insanely elongated to boredom.
So, sorry, I need to nitpick here. If you have alert marines and an alert comm, and your team doesn't TOTALLY suck at shooting, any skulk rush should result in a long spawn queue for the kharaa and a ton of RFK for your comm. If you have a sucky comm and sucky players who can't shoot worth a lick, then the skulk rush just serves to shorten a loosing game. I think it's a valid tactic, and it works so much because in 2.0 marines aren't expecting it (why would those skulks just die to give us res?). Don't discount perfectly valid tactics. I don't even have a problem with turret farms to a point. It's what's needed to secure an area from unorganized attacks from lone aliens. The only bad thing is turret farm + nade spam prolonging an end-game. Just be careful what you lump together as "bad"
-Marines need to start with at least 150 resources. Even in a 6v6 game, aliens already have 150 resources, and in larger games, the imbalance is worse. Either that or let the aliens start with less resources (maybe 20 instead of 25).
-If aliens start with 25rps, then alien resource and offense towers need to be more expensive. It seems too easy to expand all over the map, which I guess can be countered with a shottie rush. However, in larger maps, this is quite risky, and we don't want 50 sec. long games anyways. Plus you're exploiting a little by listening for the hive....
-RFK helps aliens more by allowing 1 skilled skulk to go onos early (together with the fact that aliens usually have more resource towers than the marines). 1 skilled marine doesn't help the team as much (unless he's the com). And with the turrets doing less damage to an Onos now, you can kiss any marine expansion goodbye.
-20rps to electrify a node still seems too expensive. Once the aliens have fades onwards (or a little gorge-skulk teamwork), those nodes are gone. It takes more than 3 minutes to recoup the resources for an electrified node before you start earning from it.....
We'll have to see how 2.1a does, but I don't think it will balance the game yet. The fact that hives cost 50rps will help a little but aliens will still have the advantage.

Yes, because it is imbalanced, marines win at a 1:10 ratio, Flayra's even said this...Why do you think he's working on 2.1a? Read public beta forum.
It's understood that 2.0 is not perfect. That's what the open beta patches are about. If you wish to discuss those patches, please go to the Public Beta forum. Crying about 2.0 is pointless, as Flayra is already aware that changes need to be made, and he is already making them.
