I saw a comm put a TF on TOP of an RT and electrify it. The electrified TF protected both.....is this supposed to happen?

You sure he didn't just electrify both?

Pretty sure...there was no pretty glow around the RT but when you bit it...ouch. It was EARLY game by the way...so I really doubt he had the resources to spend electrifying both.

I don't see much of a problem with this. It's a high-risk, high-reward strat. The benefit is obvious, but the downside is that your TF is no longer situated in your main base, where it's usually easier to protect. If it is your only TF, which it probably will be early in the game, you could potentially lose the ability to elec other nodes if the aliens work together and knock out the node with the TF.

edit: personally, I'd rather spend the res to elec my TF in base and cover my IP with it.

I thought marines weren't supposed to be able to build on marine buildings in 2.x?

Well...I didn't screenie it...but they most certainly did. I'll keep my eye out for it again and take a snap next time.
