How Can I Tech Faster....

Used to be pretty good in 1.04(dont say jp/hmg,i rarely did that <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->).In 2.0 ive been losing incredibly badly.Today i lost 6 maps in a row.It usually happens like this :
-Aliens goes SC,marines get ambushed like crazy,mass res boost to aleins.Obs cant replinish energy fast enough to scan every single room my marines are going to enter into.
-Elect rts get owned by infestation.TF rts get owned the same since i cant afford seiges.
-Everytime we take a rt or try to take one,marines are owned by skulks and the occasional lerk.As in massive slaughter in 10 seconds.
-Onos in about 8-9 minutes.
-Aliens suddenly stop attacking our base and settles for camping outside.This is usually the point where i recycle because all the aliens are going to do is wait till all has fades/onos THEN rush in to kill la/lmg marines.
Sometimes we will finally make some headway,get like 4-5 rts secured,and the skulks are starting to die a bit more..then an onos would appear and its game over because we;ve JUST began to get an adv armory due to lack of res.

At any rate, after you got a couple of res, maybe around the 5 minute mark. Save up your res to about 50 or 60...do not drop below this amount for the next X amount of time. Pretend 50 res is 0 and dont' spend it.
When/if onos's appear, drop some of your troops shotguns and have them guard. Also make sure you got at least some weapon upgrades (if possible). Shotguns will toast an onos and many times they don't even get to redempt (due to the nature of shotgun damage.)
So really don't bother with heavy armor or hmg...just use shottys. If one of your shotty people dies its not an extream amount of res lost and because they were defending, chances are you can have another person pick it up.
Get weapon upgrades quickly so your men can take the aliens out quicker when they do spot them and have one guy walk point if possible. (bait) Onos aren't that bad without regeneration. If you have upgrades but not adv. armoury then shotguns work wonders but make sure your marines work in groups.
If aliens camp out side your base then GL them. Adv amoury should be high on your priorities.
The only way to tech faster is to get more resources, there are two ways to do that. Resource Towers or Resource for Kills.
Standard strategies than work for me are:-
1. Get double res and middle hive, this plus base splits the map in two and makes alien travel harder, keep an eye on the unbuilt hive but you have 4 resource towers, scout for more and keep killing the alien res. Get phase gates, several obs and MT if they have sens then get upgrades and lock down the second hive as soon as you can. Perhaps with a shooty rush. If you get the double res and middle hive turreted right at the start you have doubled your chances of winning. If you take the second hive your in a two hive lockdown and you just have to hold it and turret up with at least 12 turrets and 2 seiges in each. Then get your HA squad with a few GL's a few Shotties and the rest HMG, make sure they all have welders and finish it off.
2. If you cant get the double res, give up. Take a look at the map and get all the surrounding res points plus get one hive locked down and send 2 to kill resources and try to fend of aproach to the other hive. You can get 5 resources this way and electrify only those you need to. Get phase gates at the hive and base so you can defend both quickly and adequately.
there are more stragegies but if the alien team is as good as the marines then the aliens will win.
It's hard work and if you win 1in5 then your doing ok.

Everytime i managed to get to a ha/jp vs onos scenario,onos always somehow managesd to redempt even with a group of shotties blasting away at him in close range....
I think its because pub marines cant time their shotgun blasts to concide with each other,so the onos will take a couple of blasts and redempt,while the other have just fired and their buckshot impacted on the wall......
Shotguns usually pay themselves off unless your team is really noob.
Heh, I've managed to kill several redempt-onos with shotty alone. Lvl 2 armor lvl 3 weapons. Some onos just suck, but the point is they don't redeem, just keep going into their body and if they are sucky players they won't kill you, and they wont redeem, they'll just die to your powerful shotty.
