PLEASE.
But as of the moment, its unconfirmed if it will or won't, because they would have to do a 100% rehaul, and make sure they used the engine correctly, and exploit its strong points.
He said it would be harder to do than people think it would be, and wouldnt be a simple "port"
To use the full potential of the HL2 technology, all the maps, models, and other artwork would have to be redone.
Thats alot of hard work.
supernorn has got it ^^ i would be surprised if NS didn't... o no theres gonna be a HL3!!! somebody save me... (yes its confirmed... i just dont even wanna know the spam on the forums by then bout it ;P)
2) Flayra has not said no, nor has he said yes.
3) Everyone saying that "It'll need EVERYTHING REDONE!" is full of **** because they haven't seen the engine yet (And ValvE said it'd port nicely)
4) ValvE loves mods and modders. They make it as easy as possible.
BTW: By the time HL3 comes out, Gabe Newell will be dead 12 years.
Some things I'd love from NS2 on the Source engine: Cameras! Dynamic lighting! Ragdolls!

Now that makes a whole lot of sense: Rework a new game on an antique of an engine.
NS will not be ported to HL2.
A true sequel *might* be built on HL2, but don't hold your breath.
