Ghost for Light,
Marine for Heavy;

and that OTHER marine for 1.0 was really ugly, not enough detail.......

good idea but the ghosts should be the marines with the jetpacks cuz in game you dont see that many people wiht jetpacks compared to those with HA so it would be cool seing all these marines and only like 1 or 2 ghosts running around and anyways the ghosts are the ones that do all the stealth missions so it would just make sense if they could easily get into vents and stuff

better idea:

Marines for reg. guys
Ghost for jetpack dudes
FIREBAT for HA dudes

cuz u dont see that many HA till end of round...

hehe smart if only there were flamethrowers in the game so we could use REAL firebats
• JoAlienJoAlien Join Date: 2003-08-09 Member: 19187Members
maybe we can get a flamethrower replacement for...

welder???

one more prob:

the jetpack model is a submodel of the reg. marine model;

gonna be hard to make it into a ghost...

Not that I care at all about sc models, but the jp marine can be a completely different model. They just happened to use the marine with a jp on its back. All you gotta do is change the model on the jp marine to whatever you want and it will work, you just can't change bone structure.

i think its better to make the normal soldier a ghost because the marine and firebat are almost identical

all the firebat is compared to the marine is a red reskin.

So badly incorrect you would beleve it. The jet pack isnt ADDED to the model its a NEW model its self, try it out load up the jp ref and it will come with a marine. so u can change the model

Not possible for 2 diff models for JP and reg , cause I think it's just the jetpack slapped on the back, also, I think someone was saying they were going to do the fusion cutter for the welder, and I'm hoping someone else does the Spider mines for mines.
• sheena_yanaisheena_yanai Join Date: 2002-12-23 Member: 11426Members
nope.. jrtpack is nut just slapped on the back.. you have to make the complete model, and add the jetpack to it..

i have done a simple conversation and changed only the regular marine model... my replaced marine apeared ingame, but switched to the old default marine when ive equipped the jetpack.

the submodel contains a whole 2 nd playermodel with jetpack .so its possible to make 2 in 1

The JP marines is infact a whole other submodel, decompile your normal ns soldier and check the reference mesh mc_jp and mc, you can change one of them into something completely different

Marine for Skulk
Firebat for Hive
Gauss rifle for Gorge
Mutalisk for Jetpack
Ultralisk for welder

Mine makes more sense.

LoL yea, that's kinda what I thought when I looked at this thread... a flame thrower for a welder is ... well.. meh I use the marine for LA and the Marine with the visor for HA :\
• Hitokiri_ViciousHitokiri_Vicious Join Date: 2003-08-12 Member: 19602Members
Since most Heavy Armors come with HMGS It'd make more sense to make HA's Goliaths since Firebats only use Flamethrowers and the welder isn't strong enough to be considered a weapon.
• Crunchy1Crunchy1 Join Date: 2003-08-11 Member: 19454Members
goliaths are like 20 feet tall like mechwarrior mechs or something

no freaking way

silly nublins.. what about a light-armored squad commander thingy for the light marines?

just take off his helmet.. the colonial marine already looks like that.

ghost for light marines is moot.. you can't go invisible, you can't laser designate, you can't snipe..

SC isn't starcraft. so you're better off with a light-armored SC marine for soldier.
• Hitokiri_ViciousHitokiri_Vicious Join Date: 2003-08-12 Member: 19602Members
Of course you'd adjust the porportion to fit the game moron, and the Mech thingy(dunno what it's called) from Aliens has been made into a HA model and it's huge as hell in the movie, so obviously it's size had to be reduced.

anyways, just cuz u cant laser designate, cloak, or lockdown in NS doesnt mean we shouldnt have a ghost; we cant use the Stim Packs, but we want starcraft marines, dont we?
